Do you feel “older”? Let's look at “older” for a moment. What is it that makes a classic car a classic? What is it that turns a bottle of wine into a vintage? What is it that makes an original Spinning Wheel so valuable? They are all old.

When the Mustang first came out, it was not a classic. But time changed that. When a Spinning Wheel was made in the 1800s, it was no more valuable than any other. Yet, in becoming older, they have become more valuable.

You may feel that you have become damaged or scarred by the events of the years. The value of an antique desk or chest of drawers is questioned if it does not show some scars. It is those scars and imperfections that add to the value of the item.

You have heard many things being touted and praised as “having stood the test of time”. This is not an easy one, the test of time. For, whomever, or whatever, all must take this test. And only the best, the most worthy shall prevail.

You, Tina, have stood that test of time. You, have prevailed where others have failed. You may have some “scars”, but you wear them well. You may feel that you are getting older, and that you are. But do remember, that you, as all other “classics” are getting older. But that is how you become more valuable. To coin a phrase “You're not getting older. You're getting better.”

Happy Birthday.

Now if vintage things just didn't cost so dang much :P

You wouldn't want something from the dollar store would you? Hey, second hand treasures usually end up among my favorite things anyway.

Thank you all for such wonderful birthday wishes. I did in fact have a wonderful day:

I got a job yesterday and started immediately. Yeah!!!! I've been out of work since closing my shop in November.

My brother called me from California first thing this morning to wish me a happy birthday.

Fridays are our short day so I got off work at 12:30.

My two sons here in Texas me for authentic Italian - Yeah, Yeah, German girl loves Italian!

Then...I got get a tire for my truck. I've been driving my farm truck (with 357k miles) because I couldn't afford to replace the bald tires on my good truck.

And of course I got many kisses from my two buddies - MacKenzie and Tiny, when I got home.

I remember one year when my parents were flat broke and my step-dad bought me a jar of sweet pickles. That is one of my most memorable birthdays.

It's the little things that make every day a special day. :anna:

You know what? The day's not over yet!

Neptuner, you better watch out. I think Dive_buddy is going to give you a run for the money! :lmao:

I am sure Tina was blushing big-time when she was finished reading this! :lmao:

Speaking of the Mustang, my first car, when I was 17, was a 1965 Mustang, I bought it for $750. Two weeks later, this guy stopped me outside an auto parts store and made me an offer of $4000 for it!
