Chuck,
Very nice trip you're planning!  I'm going to Yap and Palau in October for 13 days, but it's a trip with a local dive shop.  I think 9 or 10 are going thus far.  When I get back, I'll email you about how things were, or are I should say.  I am really looking forward to it!

Steve~

When in October are you going to be in Yap & Palau? I'm going to be in Yap Oct 9-14 and then on to Palau for a week. (knock on wood) I can't wait ~ just a month away! :fish2: That would be cool if we were there at the same time.

Jim - Thanks for your email addr and cell number. You never know what can happen with flights, so you may get a call! With Cont. Micronesia's limited flight schedule to Yap and Palau, I wondered about the possibility of getting 'stuck' in Guam or if they hold planes for connecting passengers. Now it looks like I could dive even if I'm stranded in Guam! :wavey:

And thanks for the other great info on the liveaboards in Palau. My buddy & I are scheduled on the OH II (OH I was full) so it should be great. In Yap staying at Trader's Ridge and diving with Beyond the Reef. I am so psyched about this trip!

I finally figured out to check the box on so I get notified about updates to the threads. Sorry took me so long to reply!

Jennifer,

Plz let me know what you think when you get back. My trip is already planned but any info I collect between now and Feb will be put to use.

- Chuck

PS: Jim I'll layover in Guam between Palau and Truk. Aprox 12 hours any suggestions on things to do would be appreciated. I've heard there is a cool museum to check out. I've gotten it written down someplace but you may know of other things to do.

Chuck
I can sort you out with entertainment when you come. At this time the War in the Pacific museum is shut down untill they get a new location (typhoon damage that the landlord did not want to fix) The US navy museum is moving to a location outside the gate. It may be operational by the time you get here. The GovGuam museum is hit and miss in its operation so a prediction now would be futile.

It was the War in the Pacific museum that was recommended. I guess I'll wait till Jan to get more info about what to do since things could change a lot by then.

Yea
The Navy museum before it moved was more of an underfunded collection of artifacts than a proper museum. I will make it a point to find out the status of War in the Pacific by January.

Chuck
I just came back from a trip to Palau. I had a good look at the Ocean Hunter II and its very nice. I stayed with the owners of the Ocean Hunters and Fish N Fins while I was there. I did not have a chance to dive but I did get two fishing trips in.
I may be going down again the day after christmass.
Don't forget to give me a heads up before you come over. I'll show you around.

I'll contact you before I leave in Feb. Glad to hear about the Ocean Hunter II but I'll be on the Aggressor. Got a package deal tween Palau, Truk and Kona. Will save $500 and I've always been treated well on the Aggressor fleet.
