Hi guys & gals,

I know you aren't recruiting minors, but a fairly large number of new members are not being careful when registering. I see quite a few new members who leave the default settings. That means female under age 18. When they do that, they can only see the announcements forum. This is a site for adults, so please make sure folks you recruit know to fill in age and gender when they register.

Thanks for the assist!

Walter

Can that be changed so that the default is blank, and a reminder message comes up to enter age and gender comes up before they go to the next page???

I agree, better to make the fields blank and mandatory, much less confusion :)

that's a good idea, lubold...

also, and i know honey mentioned this once already:
my girlfriend tried getting into the site but couldn't figure out the "dive in" thing (ok, she is MY friend, so how smart could she be, right??!).
maybe change it to "dive into forums"?

That's one of the issues ZD will fix when he finds some time. It's been on his rather long list of things to do for some time. The poor guy is swamped. I don't have the technical skills to address those type of issues. Believe me, it will make my job much easier when it's in effect.

In the meantime, please mention it to people you tell about the site. I'll let you know when it's accomplished.

Thanks,

Walter

Actually Walter, that brings up a good point. That happened to me when I first logged on, but I KNOW that I set those fields, might be a glitch.

Adam,

Are you sure you weren't just feeling young and pretty when you registered?

Actually, I've heard that from several people. It's something I hope gets fixed when the change is implimented.

Sorry gang that I have been a little slow responding lately, but I, like Walter stipulated, am SWAMPED. Looks like business is picking back up again and no end in sight at this time. I will get to some of the more important issues asap, but this one looks like it needs attention NOW so I will look into it today. Please bare with me and I will get it taken care of.

Thanks,
-ZD
