I had to jump on a Midwest flight to MKE this weekend. Both of my parents are in bad shape. My mother just had surgery, is not doing well, and my Dad has Alzheimers with Parkinson's on top of that....he cannot be left alone and is a complete handful. How my mother cared for him all of this time I will never know. She sure hid a lot from us kids.
I am overwhelmed today with all of this. I am having to interview caregivers asap for my dad, tend to my mom and try to get them functioning. Having both of them down and out, at the same time, is challenging. My mom's medications, alone, take 20-25 mins to administer, 4x per day.
However, I will do the best I can to keep up with travel requests on SD. My siblings are rallying as best they can to get here to help.
Linda.

I just got the following message from Linda aka Travel Bunny and our inhouse travel specialist for SD. PLEASE keep her in your prayers and thoughts...she needs all the support that we can give her. And please bear with her if she was working on some travel for you. She will try to stay plugged in on finalizing any travel plans she had going for you and will ask Kim aka Fingrabber or myself to help close anything that is pending. Thank you all, Kamala

My prayers go out to you Linda.
Caregivers of Alzheimers patients tend to keep their loved ones as "normal" as they can be by covering for their illness in many ways. Part of it is just not wanting to believe the degeneration themselves. Donna's Mom has Alzheimers and is now in the Alzheimers ward at the retirement village where her parents live. It is really hard on Donna's dad.
You take care and know that we are out here for support.
