My travel plans won't change. I like the closer trips for financial reasons and less flying time. I would like to take a trip possibly to a farther destination for longer than 1 week once a year. The summer is best for me if the trip is longer than a week.
will be diving Catalina in Oct. 06 for Lobster fest. What are you doing then? Will talk more at Roatan. See you soon!

Are you going with a group ? Do you need a dive buddy?I will be diving in Philippines in February 10-18 in Anilao, Batangas province. Excellent muck and even pretty coral reefs. Got my first flamboyant cuttlefish there in March 2006. Even got a newborn baby flambo along with its eggs!

Liz,
For both trips I was planning on roughing it alone. If you might be interested in coming, I know there would be plenty of room and the cost is about $1200 for a week at the place I go. Accommodations, all meals and 4 dives/day with boat and guide included. A true bargain. I did 27 dives for over 33 hours underwater in a week. They also just got Nitrox!
As mentioned in other posts, I have been to Anilao for 5 trips and am often their only guest in the weekdays. Now that may sound dull, but I know everyone at the resort and my guide has been the same for the last 4 years. Anilao is a very small fishing and diving village and there is not much else to do but dive, and so Dive I must. 4 dives a day The muck just beacons. I love it there. My friend was guiding there last month and a surprise whale shark swam over our favorite muck site. This area has a huge diversity of nudibranchs and you will see this as location for many in the nudi books.
The boat trip in Indonesia in June will be great and a friendly buddy is always welcome.
Let me know if you are really interested, and we can talk more. I am very excited about both trips.

I would be interested for the Anilao trip in feb . In may and june it is more difficult for me to go on diving trips. The price is ok with me and I love remote places. I will let you know after I come back from the Soccoro islands trip. Since I have 3 weeks off I would like to combine an other destination after the 18th .Are you going with a group ? Have a great trip to Soccoro. I was there last New Year's but on the Solmar. It's a long boat trip there, hope you have calm seas and lots of manta action. You will love "The Boiler". Remember NO Gloves, NO lights are permitted. Water was nice, I wore a 5 mm suit and was very comfortable. Hope you have a good time.
