Seems like there is interest in diving together so I am going to be in Catalina on the 10th of July diving.

Lets see if we can get a bunch of us from this site to go.

I think there might already be three of us going from this site.

I am on the early morning boat out of Long Beach at 6:15

I am on the 8:30 ferry there on the 10th. I know others are going as well... it will be a fun day, but I do know the ferry is filling up quickly.

Wrinkles- I'm willing to have a get-together up at the house (as offered earlier). Would be glad to put some video on in the background so we can talk and watch as desired. Have to be no-host though... after all, I'm a starving marine biologist!

What time and where is everyone planning to meet? Boat dives or shore?

Rosa- These should all be shore dives in the Casino Point Dive Park. If you take the boat to Avalon, just follow the shoreline (well, actually "Front Street") to the rear of the world-famous Catalina Casino where we will be gathering. We'll decide what time to start the evening's entertainment later.

By the way, this weekend is the big silent film benefit (something a friend and I got rolling 25 years ago) in the incredibly beautiful Avalon Theatre in the Casino. It was the first theater designed specifically for the new technology of "talkies" back in 1928-29. The theater seats nearly 1,200 in Art Deco beauty. This year Mr and Mrs Mickey Rooney will be the featured stars and there will be a screening of "Captain's Courageous" ($15) as well as Douglas Fairbanks Sr.'s "The Iron Mask" ($15). The Rooneys will also be doing a presentation that night in the ballroom ($45). It is a benefit for the local Museum.

Jennifer, which ferry are you catching at 830?

Ana, your 6:15am boat just seems waaaaay too early for me, -- driving up from San Diego, especially since I have spent the last three weekends waking up at 5am to finish my advanced sailing and Advanced OW classes. Gotta rest sometime!!!

Hey Jennifer, are you on the 800 boat?. Just booked the Catalina Express out of Queen Mary, and the boats are 800 and 930. No 830 listed. Hope you are on the 800. When were you planning on returning? I booked the 645, but will change once I know everyones' plans.
