Ah WW, who says I can survive such an onslaught! You should talk to Wrinkles since she was doing her dives this weekend with a group of men!

Although I didn't join the group underwater for Wrinkle's monthly dive (our timing on surface intervals was out of synch) this weekend, I did hover above them twice as they were finishing their dive and I was starting mine. Only ChrisM of SB saw I was there... the almost perfect "stealth diver."

Dr. Bill...you are a lucky man....YOU and 3 beautiful women....how did you manage to pull that off????  -ww

Hey...just cause I'm the newbie doesn't mean I'm letting him have all the fun. As of now it looks like I'll be there too, barring any sudden earthquakes or natural disasters. Then again, unless it's a tsunami I figure I can dive through any of the other disasters. Woo Hoo

WOW... looking forward to all the reinforcements. I've managed to develop a bum knee (meniscus) and am hobbling around. Fortunately a friend lent me his jeep so I don't have to hand carry all my gear to the park, but I don't know if I'll be mended in time for the 10th. However, I WILL be diving... I just may not be up to all the women so the more men, the less the "burden" (of love, of course) for me.

This should be a lot of fun. Looking forward to it. Maybe this will help convert me to Cali diving.... Nah, I will always be a warm water wuss.

Talking about gear.... wondering what the plan is for tanks/ weights etc. Is everyone hauling all theirr gear on the catalina express or renting anything? Is there a dive shop near the dive site to get tanks from?

There are so many ways to go about this....

I bring my own gear because that’s the gear I trust and am comfortable with.

Some people like to rent tank and weights because they will have a lot less to lug around. You can rent them right there at the point so no carrying necessary.

I bring my tank and weights and grab a luggage transport to lug my gear over then I walk over to the point

Air fills are right there at the point so no worries about air fills. Unless of course it happens to be a jammed packed day air fills can take a long time as Jaime, a few others and I found out recently. But that’s when great SI buddies come in handy.

Thanks Ana. I guess I will bring my gear and some weights at least. But since I don't do much local diving, I have not bought a tank. But no problem if I can rent tanks and any extra weights right there.

Hope it won't be too crowded.

Jennifer, I will be right there with you with the blue lips etc, though you wil have an awfully harder time noticing them on me!!!!

Yes Rosa, my lips will be even bluer as they have become acclimated to the 84 degree waters off of Little Cayman last week! I will be bringing weight and renting tanks there. It does avoid the refill wait, I have found. You just swap an empty tank for a full one.

So I see 8 so far?
