Then there were some things I will never forget .....

--Like that scary cowboy fellow ... the one with the tiiiightest clothes and all the jewelry (I am really happy to not have seen him sign up at the SD booth.... but it was still BURNED onto my retinas forever.... )

He's been there just about every year since the show moved to NJ, Robin. During previous years the "Rhinestone Cowboy" wore all black with silver/turquoise jewelry. This year, for the first time, he wore tan, and it almost looked like he was wearing wrestling tights. I think most people wish he'd go back to black.

Ok I'm finally checking in....

Its been a bit crazy getting back from the show and dealing with the stuff that has backed up! All I can say is...WOW!!!

This has been our best show yet! We had the best volunteers for BTS as well as our booth. And the BTS volunteers soon learned that you were automatically SD volunteers even if you were a BTS volunteer!

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Saturday Happy Hour....the moose/mermaid lunch...pir8's (pronounced pirate for all you out there like me who didn't get it at first) and penguin's antics in the booth...Pocohanta's secret sign up system for member recruitment...NYDiver's gracious sleeping offers and the wheel of fortune...

Ok ok...so maybe I was the only one REALLY excited about the wheel of fortune...but have you ever seen anyone get excited to win a sticker....trust me..when you saw them play the wheel and all the fun we had with it...they did!!!


And it seems we should start the volunteer list NOW for next year...you know let people plan their vacations around helping the show...notice non-volunteers did not get exciting ops like mermaid escorting and booth babes and hunks...not to mention other perks like early show entry, lifelong SD hero status and a chance to get to know the awesome SD volunteers better!

No not who scooped our very own Tracemalin for dates with the mermaids (and for the record he was only talking to him regardless of what Moose and others were saying)



but the real mystery was WHO SENT FINGRABBER THE FLOWERS????

It seems our sweet little fingrabber has an admirer....and she received flowers and a teddy...at the show from a secret friend...

So if you are the secret friend...do come out and play...

or

if you know who the secret friend is...then please spill your guts!!!

Since I was the bearer of the flowers (but NOT the sender,) I will NOT disclose the sender here...

However, I will state that the sender went to extreme lenghs to ensure the flowers would get to FG. The sender deserves a big hand for pulling it all together!

I was glad to be part of the surprise.

Actually it was the ladies from the Key West booth. When I walked up and found Trace working his magic on Jill, I offer to let him come to lunch that I had already arranged with Jill AND her booth mate. Trace was admittly crestfallen to find that he was behind the curve! (but I do believe he did get to have lunch with Jill)

Trace, next year, you have to start sooner to get the jump on the single ones!

First they were found in a seat strapped in...then taken safely to the hotel room. Then they were carefully taken care of and loved and admired the whole show. On Monday they were transported to CT where they spent the night in yet another state with FG preparing to go home. Careful packing and rearranging of the combined luggage of the FG and WW allowed Kim to carry them onto the plane in her carry on. After settling into our seats we carefully leaned them against the wall of the plane next to my feet where I carefully covered them and my legs so that it would not be obvious that they were not under the seat. After take off they exchanged places and were carefully set between the FG's legs to protect them...upon landing a similar technique so that we did not have to shove them under the seat and damage them.

Ah yes...the flowers were beautiful...the admirer devine...but the effort to keep them...priceless!

just basing off the clue that was dropped i need to know if i can GuEss or am i gOing to get finslapped, keel hulled under a wReck or have boot prints put all over by rear for Guessing, if im not supposEd to (yes im being vague). once thats clear i will drop the guess.

Well, one thing I do know is that it definitely wasn't Tolly/George. I have a pretty good idea where he is sending any flower purchases these days...
