Not to hijack this thread too much, but since "shark conservation" was mentioned in the initial post by Moose...

Come see the screening of the shark conservation film.... SHARKWATER in NYC on April 14th.... See the post started by Tolly on this...

Details found in the pinned SHARKWATER post.....

Well, I can't offer the vacation, but, if I can lose 50 by next year (and get back into my tux) I'll be there, too.

Heck, for a shot at a date with WW, I'd go out and buy a new tux if I can't drop the 50!!! :)

I must be a traditionalist. I do own a Tux... Rent one twice and it is worth buying...

Tube sock?

When I peel off the wet suit, what am I supposed to do with pony bottle ?

Sounds like a fun idea, I hope you do raise lots of money for a good cause. However, I am about 1000 miles away, so I would have to be on the remote-meat-market plan.

Well, you know there are now airplanes that can whisk you those 1000 miles in just a couple of hours... all for just a few $$$.... the meet-market is open for all.... :birthday:

As far as the bachelorettes go, maybe it would be better to raffle off a date with the mermaids than an auction? What do you think, Moose? I think there is less potential for rowdiness with a raffle.
Can we put a list at the beginning of this thread of bachelors who are interested in volunteering?
Can someone start trying to figure out where we can hold this thing? We need some space to parade the slaves...uh...bachelors around. Anyone have any connections as far as that goes? Can we get it advertised on the BTS webpage or something?
I will see what I can do as far as refreshments and stuff. I'll also see if I can get some restaurants to donate dinners for the dates.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

if where are a decent establishment it shouldnt be that hard to put together a runway, but maybe if we have a member with a theatrical background who knows where we could get such materials.

on the raffle you might want to limit the number of tickets one person can buy so that there isnt a onesided drawing as i have seen this in the past where one party bought almost all of the tickets to insure a good outcome.

Heidi - also i will get you some info on the tails as i need to contact a few people to find out what materials are used for the tails and which ones are land only or which ones are functional in water (mermaid lady contact me if you see this)

Amazingly enough, I work in a place with a runway (and poles) the problem is, I'm just a bit out of the way. . .
