Moosenator - This is just one of at least 20 sites that offer file storage with file sharing capabilities... Only 5 GB, but should do in the short term. :)

XDrive

Or you guys can wait for me to get my FTP site back up and running...

But how does that help us get diver's memories on SD? Without them local on the site others do not realize how much fun our trips are!

Dude, the Commish is already p!ssed at me for using Youtube. We don't need any more talk about off site storage!

In fact, she is so insistant that everything stays on this site, that she hasn't even asked to see the "Setup" database I created for trip management! (I'm guessing it's because its my code and needs to run on a Domino server and she doesn't have one. I've be willing to host it for free for her however.)

Gee, it's weird talking about the Commish in 3rd person knowing that she is reading this! :D

My thought process was Moose sends Tolly the raw video via the third party storage. Tolly can fold, spindle and mutilate it to acceptable size and post it on site for download. :)

Us IT folk have access the higher speed PCs and network connections, but we have the same limits on email as everyone else. A decent FTP site used for transfers will save email from excessive overload when you send large files. Attachements get 33% bigger when you email them as well. My average bandwidth use on my home account is in the 20-25 GB range so for me email is almost never an option.

Remember, email is an inefficient communications forum. You may not read things the way it was intended. Give people the benefit of the doubt before firing back... Especially if it is ME...! ;)

I'm not pissed...how can I be pissed at you! :birthday:

However I do recall a certain Moose-enator that was hesitant to join in on a trip. Now I'm sure that pictures would not have swayed you but when you look at the trip photo galleries you see some with LOTS of pictures and some that are empty. Does this mean no one took pics? Or does it mean that no one had a good time? No it usually means that people used file sharing sites and sent pics via email but did not post them on the site. However how would you all know that? All you see are empty photo galleries :birthday:

For many of you this was your first trip with SD and fortunately it won't be your last. But it is challenging for some people to take a leap of faith and go diving with a group of strangers...but that is what each and every one of you did when you took your first trip with SD. Maybe it was the trip reports from previous trips or maybe it was the pictures or the other people going on the trip...but without these extra comfortors...many would not join us and look how much fun they would have missed out on!

So yes we want to keep things on the site and yes we REALLY appreaciate that when you share pictures with each other as you are also sharing with members not on the this trip...but perhaps ones that will be on the next trip!

As you know I'm just getting my head above water after coming back from Grenada to find my mother in the hospital seriously ill. So George is handling some of the things I normally handle in the short term but he always handles the IT stuff. We really do appreciate all the :birthday: work you did to help us create a trip cost calculation tool...Tolly will be working with you on that soon! He is getting a small group of IT types including you and Shadragon together to help with several solutions for the site! And :birthday: again for all your work! You are awesome! :cheerleader:

How can you trust this site to someone that can't even pronouce his own nickname? Geeze!

Anyway, If you want, send someone to my house, I'll let them spend all the time they want, on line uploading my pics. I'll even dictate a bunch of trip posts. I just don't have the time to do them yet.

Um, I have a live-in house keeper, maybe I should look into getting a "Live-in web poster!" :birthday:

OK! So I posted some pics to the gallery showing how much fun we all had! That certainly cannot be debated! Some underwater photos of the Museum artifacts (Naked Ladies et al) and the picture of the local artist with all us gals! Just to give due credit most of these pics especially the underwater ones were Karen's pics but she is too busy to post!

OK, come on down to "The Moose Hut" and go though my pics and videos and post them.

Every time I try to do it, I get to thinking about the fun I had, then I remember the Commish and her schedules, and I just think that I'll post them a week ago and they will all be there already! :D

(if you were there, you understand that sentance!) :D

Of course not, Son---you are a PlatyMoose. Note that you have no 'pus' to concern you.

We confirmed this with Dignified Noninvasive Alcohol ingesting done by the resident biology instructor at the Platypus Institute for Happy Hour Research, the Right Honorable Dr. I. T. "Itchy" Chancre.

Sparky is still not quite over the shock.

Ok Gang,
Me and Sandy will be in Grenada next weekend for a Windjammer cruise. We're doing a 2 tank dive there the morning before we sail. What two reefs would you recommend us to ask to go to? The dive shop is letting us decide! (It's Aquanauts btw)
