I had a family member tell me he needed to fix me up with his neighbor......If he would ever get divorced!!!!! I was like right.....what's wrong with him?? My "Ex husband" is your neighbor too and you introduced me to him!!!! For some reason he feels he has to try to fix me up at family gatherings.

I'd be running from that 'turn about is fair play' match up!

This was the first Holiday season that I threw a monkey wrench at the family. I went on a dive trip over Thanksgiving; Please, Please Mom can I have Pancakes in the morning before I leave????? She did not hold it against me for diverting "tradition" by leaving and did fix me pancakes. Thank You!! We normally have breakfast on Christmas and I would disappear after that. This year we had Dinner.

I also get the same thing about meeting someone from my family. I keep telling them that I want someone who enjoys the same activities I do. Diving is important since I am an addict. I tell the family that the only way to meet someone with mutual interests is to keep doing the things I enjoy.

I have always spent Christmas with my family but have missed a few Thanksgivings! It was easier when I had to travel to visit for Thanksgiving and a lot harder once my mom moved to Texas. But your basic premise that to meet people who do the things you love you need to be doing them is spot on! That is how I met my guy! So keep diving...and by the way...try diving with us! For a non-dating site we've had 5 engagements which has resulted in 4 marriages. Not bad for a site that is only 4 years old!
