congrats & glad to hear that you're already enjoying the new job!

Also good to hear it may involve travel to these United States! Maybe you'll get a chance to :-D

with the travel. Now if you could only find the perfect house....I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Update: Been through 41 houses so far. Tried to buy 4 (One of them was to die for...). Did not get them for various reasons. Still looking and driving over 2 hours a day for work. :cheerleader:

I bought two tickets on a house lottery as a backup plan... The draw is at the end of the month. :thankyou:

OK, number 45 is the charm... I looked at 4 places on Tuesday, LOVED the last one I saw and refused to leave until my agent wrote up the offer. Counter offer arrived 20 minutes later and we signed the deal in the driveway before I left. The house had only been on the market for 24 hours and it had three other offers in on it. Just got word this afternoon that my financing approval had come in. So it is official, I HAVE A HOUSE... The rest is paperwork.

It is, in a word, perfect for me. 5 years old, three bedroom open concept, Cathedral ceilings, private (professionally landscaped) lot, two car garage, super-insulated and oozes quality. If you want to see pics, PM me your email and I will send them along. I am pricing up tank air compressors now for the garage.

I move in the middle of next month and after that it is only a 13 minute drive into work instead of my current hour and 10 minutes. What I am paying in rent now + what I am spending on gas = my new mortgage payment so that ain't bad. I can have a life again now... :respect:

Great to hear about the new place. 10 min commute? I walk 4 feet, but then I have no garage, or livingroom or anything else in my 8x8 home. Audio book do make miles fly by as I have made a few long drives that I can remember. :thankyou:

Enjoy those muggy Texas summers that are on there way and when I get to Houston we can all go diving.
