Well :welcome: ladies.

Things I learned on my first Athens trip

1)Get beer early. All beer stores close thirty minutes before you get to them on the way in.
2)Get there first. It's nice to have a camping spot in the shade.
3)It's a long drive from Missouri to Texas.
4)The first dive of the morning is the best because of afore-mentioned jumping jacks.
5) A tent doubles as a steam room during the Texas days. Even in the shade.
6)If you bring an extension cord and fan, your steam room will be a liltle less steamy.
7) While diving if you come across a large cloudy area in the water you have found a student group.
8) Cloudy areas, I.E. students, either follow you in the water or preceed you on the exact dive you previosly planned.
9) While on land the SD group is easy to spot. They swagger at first and stagger later, laughing the entire time.
10) A beer wench is available upon request.
11) Bring twice as much beer a syou think you need. You will need it to keep up. A gallon of wine is also nice. So is a pint of schnapps.
12) the food is awesome. If you left hungry it was because you were waiting for someone to bring it to you.
13)If your stagger has changed to motionless you don't get fed.
14) While on a night dive if an experienced diver says he/she is not lost, They are.
15) The same implies to in-experienced divers.
16) Although there are no fish or plants in the water, something comes out at night that pinches and pokes night divers.
17) Contrary to poplar belief if enough beer, wine, and schnapps are consumed the trains do not run at night.
18) The enjoyability of the morning dive is directly related to how mant trains ran the night before. If 3 ran it's a good morning to dive. If none ran, stay in your tent.
19) The breakfast burritos may cause non-regulator derived bubbles.
20) Leaving all the cool people you've met really sucks.
21) It's an even longer drive from Texas to Missouri.......but it was worth every bit of it.

Nice to meet you all. We had a blast. Look forward to seeing you all again

You know you had to be there to FULLY understand but my sides are still hurting from laughing over the following:

Things I learned on my first Athens trip

3)It's a long drive from Missouri to Texas. (You said that right...you all got the RECORD for longest drive to dive a quarry!!! )

5) A tent doubles as a steam room during the Texas days. Even in the shade.

7) While diving if you come across a large cloudy area in the water you have found a student group. (OR ONE OF THE WRECKS!!!)

9) While on land the SD group is easy to spot. They swagger at first and stagger later, laughing the entire time. (Its a TEXAS THANG!!!)

10) A beer wench is available upon request. (Yes I am!! And 'bean stirring' wench...you name it!!!)

12) the food is awesome. If you left hungry it was because you were waiting for someone to bring it to you.

13)If your stagger has changed to motionless you don't get fed.

14) While on a night dive if an experienced diver says he/she is not lost, They are.

16) Although there are no fish or plants in the water, something comes out at night that pinches and pokes night divers.

17) Contrary to poplar belief if enough beer, wine, and schnapps are consumed the trains do not run at night.  (You know I've NEVER heard those trains...well at least not the 4am one...I think I've heard the other ones from the hot tub!!!)

18) The enjoyability of the morning dive is directly related to how many trains ran the night before. If 3 ran it's a good morning to dive. If none ran, stay in your tent.

19) The breakfast burritos may cause non-regulator derived bubbles. (Mine didn't...did we eat the same 'bitchen breakfast burritos'???)

20) Leaving all the cool people you've met really sucks. (Watching you all have to leave wasn't much better!  :dltears: )

21) It's an even longer drive from Texas to Missouri.......but it was worth every bit of it. (Thank Donny and Penny and David...I'm glad you made it back safely!)

Nice to meet you all. We had a blast. Look forward to seeing you all again

(As did we!!!)  :teeth:

I hear you Marvel does sound like a great time. The only problem with moving there is that there are to many Texans. :-D
