other sad thing about there blog is that they didnt even get the location right. this happened at LAX, the person involved is from Lubbock.

Where did you get that? I've been thru several stories on this and they all say Lubbock?

I've generally had better luck with LBB agents than others, except for one overbearing butt. I have to wonder if it was him that called for this. I don't know that my daughter has any body rings but if this had happened to her, I'd be in the middle of those rednecks - then maybe in jail where they belong.

She got her apology sorta...

TSA to change procedures for passengers with body piercings
(Published March 29, 2008)

LOS ANGELES — The Transportation Security Administration said Friday it will change they way its officers search passengers with body piercings after a Texas woman complained she was forced to remove a nipple ring with pliers in order to board an airplane.

Mandi Hamlin, 37, had demanded an apology and her Los Angeles-based attorney sent a letter to the TSA this week requesting a civil rights investigation.

Don

Thats not a apology for public aggrivated (sexual?) assault, unlawful restraint, intimidation, and humiliation at all thats a admission of guilt.

Then when rueters or any wire service put out a article they put the city where it happened, hence los angeles, just a FYI.

I will agree with you on the jail piece.

I can believe that about LAX.

I went through there about a year ago. On the route to security, the only access to my departing flight concourse was a short escalator ascending about half a story. The top of said escalator was eye level to someone standing the bottom.. As I approached the foot of the Escalator there was a Uniformed TSA Guard there who asked me for my ID and boarding pass. Fine, I show him and start up. At the top of the escalator, in full view of the first guard, I encounter a second Uniformed TSA Guard, who asks me for my ID and Boarding pass again!! There's no other way between those two points, and clear line of sight between them. WTF? did they think I was going to be replaced by a teleporting shapeshifter? :canada:

Security Theatre indeed!! :|

Note to self: remove Prince Albert hardware before going through security....

Not sure which part has the most eww factor:

That I know where and what a Prince Albert is;

That you would trip the security sensors when you wear it;

Having to explain it to the TSA people;

Removing it at their behest, while they watch to verify same.

PPM

OK I'll take the bait.

What's a "Prince Albert"?

It's more of an apology than I thot the TSA would issue so soon. But they are catching a helluva lot of heat all over the net. Good!

Every article I have seen, and I have been thru several, says it happend in Lubbock on the way to Dallas. I know that the interview was in Los Angeles, but I don't see any stories saying the incident was in LAX..?

For anyone still wondering: http://en.wikipedia....Albert_piercing Picture on that site - not including it here.

Google is your friend.

The following information is not recommended for the sexually repressed or squeamish - but here is a link (btw, NOT my picture - they'd need a macro lens) - if you're still curious about a Prince Albert - here is the first entry returned on a google:

Prince Albert on Wikipedia
No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. And no dolphin who inhabits one of those aquariums or one of those marine lands can be considered normal.

I have never been called 'squeamish' but that picture nearly made me puke.

I so so so so wish I could forget what I saw.
