An 11-year-old Freeport boy who was attacked by a shark remained hospitalized in guarded condition Monday.

Surgeons Reattach Boy's Hand After Shark Attack

But rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--"WOW--What a ride!"

So my understanding is that they were fishing and the boy was near the catch. Not sure I'd consider this an "unprovoked" shark attack. You place your hand too close to my food and I might bite it myself.

Feel sad for the boy but what was the adult thinking?

I hope none of our divers are afraid of sharks....stories like these just do more to add to that fear. I've yet to see any recent if any stories at all about sharks attacking divers. I'd like to see similar stories run on the number of people who die from killer bees since more people die annually from bee stings then shark bites. (Of course I'm not sure I've seen any stories about bees attacking divers either???? Hmmm????) :lmao:

Sorry ZD...I hope sharks aren't kin to eagles....if so I don't like reading about that side of your family's feeding habits. Now swimming with them in thier own environment....thats a different story...I'll do that anyday!! -ww :welcome: Heck I'll even tangle with an occasional land shark.... :teeth:
