Since I am in Curacao, getting to Bonaire is not a problem. I'll be diving there 19 - 21 July 08 and staying at the Golden Reef Inn.

I think I saw somebody mention boat dives? Other than Klein Bonaire and the wild side, why would anybody be doing boat dives, just out of curiosity?

I'm interested in the 2009 meet as well. Let me know wasup, whenup and howmuchup please.

1) The boat dives were included in our package
2) Divi Flamingo has excellent Dive Masters that found us cool stuff
3) Their lockers are on the dock adjacent to the boat. Made fore very easy diving.

We did do some shore dives as well, including the Town Pier. But given that a rental truck wasn't included but the boat dives were, I think most of us did the boat dives.

Ok thanks for the feedback, that had me scratching my head since Bonaire is known as the shore diving capital of the world. Is there a set date yet for this event?

I know it doesn't work for next year, but sometime I would like to be there in September during the coral spawning over the full moon.

A little birdie told me we have a coral spawning trip in 2009! Stay tuned!

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Working on dates for 2009 and the question has arisen...should we have a 3 day add-on option for the week meaning the Single's Week is just that...a week but you can add on a 3 day extra pkg making it a total of 10 days to accommodate flying midweek for cheaper fares and getting more of your money's worth for the high cost of airfare.

So how many would be interested in a 10 day option and how many would be interested in a 7 day option for 2009? Thank you! kamala

Need more input but its looking like we'll stongly consider a standard 7 day option with a 3 day add-on. Now the question is based on how many people join us...if we continue 'single's week' activities or just let you all 'fly on your own' for balance of the 3 days???

I guess it would depend on the flight options and would it be on the front end or the back end of the trip? If it was based upon this year's flight options, I would stick with a 7 day trip.

Looking at the dates currently posted being the week before July 4th, its going to be a challenge for me anyway as that is a popular time for people to take off from work around here.

I was really hoping for April, when things are slower. Any trips currently being looked at around then?

We are looking at flights now...it will be June but it WON'T be near the 4th of July. We'll be in the Dry Tortugas next year for the 4th.

I did the last 2 weeks of April 2008 in Bonaire and was able to dive in just a skin, but any earlier in the year I'd have to break out the 3mm suit. I'm up for whenever you schedule, because I loved all the shore diving!
