Sandy -
what is the process for getting our local flight? Airline? Schedule? Confirmations? Where to catch it?
It's my first time in BZE and with Single Divers, so forgive me if what I am asking is trivial.

Thanks

It's simple, Pass thur Belize Immigation after deplaning, collect your bags, pass thur Belize Customs. After handing your Custom form to the last Custom Officer stay and travel thur a small doorway to the Left, You do not have to go outside the building ( Re-entry is easy). This doorway almost spills you directly in front of the Tropic Air ticket counter, just step up and agent will have your name on a manifest if WW booked your air. Tropic Air ran a shuttle service the Saturday during March when we landed at BZE Interenational. It looks unorganized but it will all work out.

Here's a link to my trip report from Ambergris Caye from October 2007. Ignore the first post due to my jet lag. Some dive sites and restaurant reviews.

Hi All, I was in San Pedro Town w/ LDS for a week mid -March, not a true trip report but a few points to consider as follows.

No mosquitoes because we had a building easterly wind thru out the week. Seas outside the reef 3’ - 6’ as the week progressed. On Thursday we had 6 footers and were toss about pretty well on a 36’ vee hull cabin twin jet drive, a good size boat. Our last day had 12’ seas breaking inside the reef. Diving cancelled on our last day.

Vis generally about 70’+, mooring drops and live boating pick-ups. Be aware that if you dive the HOL CHAN Marine Park you will incur a additional per day fee of $10 on your dive bill.

As for night life, you should check out the “Chicken Drop” at the Spindrift Hotel beachside on Thursdays evening ( I think), big crowd and was fun for a bit. On middle street we found a side by side dueling sidewalk food vendors w/ their stores behind them. The ladies on the left as you face them made a awesome shrimp burrito $7us. See photo

Posted Image

Further along the middle street you will find Pirates Pizza, early in week divers were buying slices of pie without a problem, However the last night 3 of us bought a slice of all meat off the turning pizza warmer and all of us got bad food poisoning, so use caution.

A photo essay follows if you like to click away.
