Hi All, I was in San Pedro Town w/ LDS for a week mid -March, not a true trip report but a few points to consider as follows.
No mosquitoes because we had a building easterly wind thru out the week. Seas outside the reef 3’ - 6’ as the week progressed. On Thursday we had 6 footers and were toss about pretty well on a 36’ vee hull cabin twin jet drive, a good size boat. Our last day had 12’ seas breaking inside the reef. Diving cancelled on our last day.
Vis generally about 70’+, mooring drops and live boating pick-ups. Be aware that if you dive the HOL CHAN Marine Park you will incur a additional per day fee of $10 on your dive bill.
As for night life, you should check out the “Chicken Drop” at the Spindrift Hotel beachside on Thursdays evening ( I think), big crowd and was fun for a bit. On middle street we found a side by side dueling sidewalk food vendors w/ their stores behind them. The ladies on the left as you face them made a awesome shrimp burrito $7us. See photo
Further along the middle street you will find Pirates Pizza, early in week divers were buying slices of pie without a problem, However the last night 3 of us bought a slice of all meat off the turning pizza warmer and all of us got bad food poisoning, so use caution.
