Wow, I was absolutely sure this trip was going to fill up! A bunch of peeps are gonna miss out!

I have just packed my dive travel bag, and have five pounds left over (45 lbs in the bag); this is my margin of safety with consideration for slightly wet gear on the way back. I packed both my dive lights without batteries to save weight (a total of 12 C cells). Could one of you nice diver-type people who is driving to KW bring 12 C alkalines to the boat for me? I'll either pay you cash money up front, or sign for your festive adult beverages up to the amount the batteries cost on the boat. I know Captain Frank has SOME C cell batteries for sale, but I seem to remember on last year's Tortugas trip that he didn't have a whole lot, and I don't want to wipe him out.

Chuck

12 "C" Batteries..... "CHECK!" Got it
I wanna be the person that my dog thinks I am

Check out the SPREE...come dive with us!

Thanks to both of you! I wonder if Cap'n Frank will want to buy the excess batteries? I'm sure they'll get sold later...

The funny thing is that I'll be doing the same thing three days after the end of this trip. A lot of the people from my LDS are going to Little Cayman for a week the following Saturday, and I'm one of them. Cayman Airways allows a TOTAL of 55 lbs in everything you take with you. I hope they sell Cs there...

Computer for Kamala and batteries for Chuck. I'll have both for you two.

Que :P

Que...Bruce and Zach....you are the best. Sadly I will have to be online as much as is humanly possible...its just nearly impossible to run 3 trips in one month, PACK, LOAD AND MOVE and keep the business running at the same time. Something has to give and it will be me glued to a computer as much as is humanly possible.

Thank you all....I am so blessed to have such great friends/members! :welcome:

IMPORTANT REQUEST:

This month is our official move to SC and it happens over the FL Keys Dive Trip. I have just discovered that my wireless is NOT working and I've 'robbed' my roommate's computer this week in order to have access. Does anyone have a computer I can use on this trip as I suspect we'll find some wireless along the way or even air card access. I would sign up but I can't get the hardware in time for the trip.

HELP! :birthday:

Carry On!

I just took a look at the Key West Marine Forecast on www.wunderground.com . Looks like the first couple of days out are gonna be a bit bumpy. Don't forget the anti-hurl meds!

See y'all tomorrow!

Hey everyone...the trip has gotten off the a great start with some of the SD'ers doing an EARLY land based Keys Krawl. Sadly Que had to return home to attend to her mom and only one person went missing...uh....me! LOL!!! Seems bad weather in Dallas delayed over 100 flights and they either didn't land or landed late throwing MOST of the flights in and out of Dallas off until early evening. I was supposed to leave at 11 am and FINALLY got out of Dallas at 6pm. I missed the connections to Key West so get there today Friday around 2pm.

One of the reasons we use the operator we use....Spree Expeditions is because they offer two itineraries for the ultimate in flexibility! They go North up the Keys and do a Keys Krawl like we scheduled for the May trip and they go South to the Dry Tortugas like we scheduled for the August trip. In addition to two great diving itineraries...if the weather is bad South they can go North vs getting blown out or conversely if the weather is bad in the North, they can go South. This is PRECISELY what just happened on this trip currently underway. The weather in the Keys has continued to deteriorate so rather than be blown out...they have opted to head South and do the Dry T's and I'll meet them at the Fort on Saturday am where I'll join the group!

The group is taking it in good spirits...opting to dive rather than be completely blown out or deal with very bad conditions. KUDOS to the group for being so flexible and of course to Ms. Punkie for holding the fort while I am in transit. One of the best things about SingleDivers.com is the amazing volunteers we have and the quality of our staff members! :birthday:

Another first will be to dive around the Fort! I'm hoping I get to do some but will be happy to just meet up with the group! Kudos to the crew for being so diligent to ensure that they hooked back up with me. Somehow I think they would do it even if I weren't the trip leader!

Well I need to head to my gate so I'll cut this short...I'll add more as the saga continues! -ww

scubaski is referring to a military term (I think) HALO stands for High Altitude Low Opening free fall parachute jump to get to the fort. I think he was wondering how you got to the fort (land, air, sea). Just reading between the lines. Ski am i right?

No No nothing like that! I simply used one of the day boat ferries and did a one way ticket to the fort. In fact Capt Frank will use that info to create a FAQ so taht if ohters miss the boat...they can hook up the same way. :lmao:

Everyone went to Duvual Street last night so still sleeping....I gotta get some work caught up so will get back at it! :lmao:

Oh, for those wondering what fort is being talked about, here's a couple pics to give y'all an idea of the size and beauty of the place:
