If you can't eat it or play with it,
Just pee on it and walk away.

Are there any camping grounds in the area?
I am ok with any weekend in July.
It would be great if WW could be there, but we can't plan it around her insane crazy schedule! She may not even live in TX by that time.
If memory serves, there is a camp ground right on the water and I'm up for camping out! It's been a while since I've been but it is a lot of fun. I should be good to go for Jul 31.

What if we do something like meet Friday, set up camp, go to Gruene Hall Friday for Happy Hour, dive/clean up Saturday, BBQ, and tube! We can tube Sunday too. I have a friend with an awesome BBQ smoker in College Station. I might be able to talk him into coming or letting me borrow it.

Good Plan! I nominate damselfish to be in charge of this boondoggle!

If you want any help sending out emails to members in the Austin/San Marcos/San Antonio/Dallas/Houston areas about this, just let me know what details you want in it, and I can shoot the emails out. My contribution to the effort, since I won't be able to fly in for this one.....

I know the area pretty good. Have stayed there every year but usually stayed with my ex- mother in law. (I don't think I'm welcome anymore) Just kidding she'd actually love to have me but I'd be uncomfortable. Anyway, Maybe Victoria or someone close by in Texas can go in on it with me. ~ B

Aww are you serious LLDN? I'm sure you can find a cheap flight. It's a great river! I didn't scare you off with the raft story did I?
~ B
Nah, it's not the flight prices, it's the timing of the event. I have to be in my office on Sat. 8/1 and Sun. 8/2 [booooo]
Besides, in 100 degree weather, falling out of the raft or tube sounds like the only way to go, as long as you don't lose the beer this time! LOL Besides, sleeping on the ground sounds scarier!
