Well those are some of the names, but I don't know how to attach a link to click on.

Are there any camping grounds in the area?

I am ok with any weekend in July.

It would be great if WW could be there, but we can't plan it around her insane crazy schedule! She may not even live in TX by that time.

If memory serves, there is a camp ground right on the water and I'm up for camping out! It's been a while since I've been but it is a lot of fun. I should be good to go for Jul 31.

Okay, y'all, it looks like the weekend of 31 July is optimum.

What if we do something like meet Friday, set up camp, go to Gruene Hall Friday for Happy Hour, dive/clean up Saturday, BBQ, and tube! We can tube Sunday too. I have a friend with an awesome BBQ smoker in College Station. I might be able to talk him into coming or letting me borrow it.

B, looks like you've been shanghaied! In the Army, we called it volunteering...... :flower:

If you want any help sending out emails to members in the Austin/San Marcos/San Antonio/Dallas/Houston areas about this, just let me know what details you want in it, and I can shoot the emails out. My contribution to the effort, since I won't be able to fly in for this one..... :flower:

Aww are you serious LLDN? I'm sure you can find a cheap flight. It's a great river! I didn't scare you off with the raft story did I?
I know the area pretty good. Have stayed there every year but usually stayed with my ex- mother in law. (I don't think I'm welcome anymore) Just kidding she'd actually love to have me but I'd be uncomfortable. Anyway, Maybe Victoria or someone close by in Texas can go in on it with me. ~ B

I'm not a camping gal either. It's July and the temperature may be in the 100's in Texas so I rather sleep in a cool AC place anytime. I'll join you in the room Belinda. I'm sure we'll have other crashers joining in too. It's been a while since I've been down in this area. We should have a blast.

I may get roped into camping, but I'd still rather have a bed, A/C, and a real shower! I'm not adverse to sharing a room with 3 other roomies if there are 2 Queen beds. I have no issues with sharin' a bed! Too, I don't need to stay in a three-star place, either! As long as the sheets are clean, the shower works and the roaches leave me alone, I'm fine with it.

Nah, it's not the flight prices, it's the timing of the event. I have to be in my office on Sat. 8/1 and Sun. 8/2 [booooo]

Besides, in 100 degree weather, falling out of the raft or tube sounds like the only way to go, as long as you don't lose the beer this time! LOL Besides, sleeping on the ground sounds scarier!

I'd be up for the trip. Never been able to dive the rivers, because the cleanups are when I'm travelling to places like Wakatobi. :teeth: Though definitely prefer the hotel over camping. It gets hot here! I only do my camping in January.

:cheerleader: The end of the month in July works for me, as does any weekend that month. I'm more a motel, hotel person during the hot summer. If anybody can supply a firm date, let me know.
