All this talk about Scuba lately has sure got me fired-up!!!
So I thought I would sit down tonight and go through my dive gear and brush off the dust sense last Jan 04. Regs check BC's check suit's check fins, mask's, booties, hood, knife's, 3 al80s all 3000 psi, old CD's for signaling, mask defogger. lets see Hmmm what else ? what could happen ? DING Save a Dive Kit. extra fin and mask straps save a dive o-ring kit and a extra summer sausage ? safety sausage I mean. i think the list on the save a dive kit of mine is kinda short ? If you have a S,A,D kits whats is in yours ?

OK, I'll get my kit out of the car and start an inventory. I might not finish it tonight.

I always add some zip ties (almost as good as duck tape), oh and some duck tape. I also have found it useful to keep some really thin bungee cord material. Picked it up at a boating supply store.

Ok, I'm bad.. :dazzler: I don't have a S.A.D.K yet.. but I do plan on getting one soon as I have other gear I still need as well. On the Cozumel trip I didn't really have a lot of time to purchase gear before hand so I rented the BC and Reg here and had the rest...

I know there's always something else to buy in life! the list never ends for sure. Walter has more money in his S,A,D kit than we will have in our scuba gear!

Super useful....especially doing NC diving...hey come to think of it...I could have used those things when I was diving the Flower Gardens as well as Florida and Cozumel. Yep...good stuff to have all the way around!! -ww

Oh Lord, I'll be typing all night!!! Name it, it's probably in there, LOL. Need a spare second stage? Zip ties? Which type of lube do you want? Zipper wax? Hoses? Need to put a DIN reg on a yoke valve? Need to turn a DIN valve into a yoke valve? Adjust a diaphram reg's IP? Need tools? Band-aids? Sheesh!!!

Let's just say that the Boy Scouts left an impression on me... :cool2:

My top picks for someone starting a new kit? Electrical tape, zip ties, Common size O-rings, and thin bungee cord. A sharp knife or razor blades for trimming zip ties, etc, and a lighter for taking care of frayed edges, loose strings, and freshly cut bungee cord. Get the neoprene slap strap(?) for your mask and stainless spring straps for your fins and you'll never need to carry replacements for those, but if you stick with the rubber straps, definately carry extras.

Is that what I'm doing wrong? I got the neoprene straps for my fins and the spring strap for my mask. I thought the other one was a spare for the kit.
