Last update was of position 18:00 local April 17;

29 deg 24.1 min north at 7 knot.

By my calculations, if they maintain 7 knot they will go past Delray Beach at 19:00 today.

I would very much like to find some way to get location updates more often. Many of us here have talked about chartering a boat to go out and see it on its way. We will have to hire a BIG boat as the marine forecast is for "4 to 6 feet near shore and 7 to 9 feet offshore" today.

Talk to Zack. He has a big one. I think he has a boat too. :birthday:

Well, the Vandenberg is in Key West. Word has it that the sinking is scheduled for between May 20 and June 1. Bummer.
I'm growing older but not up,
My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck.
Let those winds of time blow over my head,
I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead.

As I am in the "area" so to speak I was really hoping to watch it go down. Boat motor blew..... :-( I am glad that it finally got sunk though!

Weather.con video has shots of a UW video camera mounted on bridge as Vandenburg sinkd. A different view point.

I have done a little research, not too many options. I'm hoping to get some feedback from some people soon. I hope to dive it in the next couple of months.

Capt Chris Norwood who was instrumental in getting the Vandenburg to Key West will certainly be diving it. We'll be using him in June when we head to Key West to do the Atocha Treasure Adventure Dive Week and again in August when we do the Florida Coral Spawning trip on the Spree and the second Atocha Treasure Adventure Dive week.

I'm sure others will be offering trips but we'll let you know very soon how Chris works out! Kamala
