"Dragon*Con is the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the US."
It's a sci-fi convention writ large. It's over 30,000 geeks descending on four hotels in downtown Atlanta for labor day weekend. Lots and lots of people in incredible (and some not-so-incredible) costumes, lots of big names as guests, and partying until all hours.
Here are some pics I've taken from previous years. It really is fun to watch the people who got hotels rooms not knowing about the convention share elevators with some of the costumes.
