OK since NOBODY I know gets on myspace anymore (I like the music part of myspace) but oh well, several people have talked me into facebook. I can't find any groups or SD friends because I guess you need emails or last names. Anyway, if anyone wants to add me PM your info. - D

SD does have a group on FaceBook and you can be a fan. We are still newbies ourselves!

Anyone want to be a content contributor for SD? We REALLY need it! :teeth:

Social Networking web sites are FUN.
Scuba Diving Forums like SD are Priceless !

Bubski

Bubski I'm with YOU!!! :teeth:

I guess I'm old school and biased and perhaps I have not learned to make the most of facebook yet but I so enjoy the camaraderie found here and social networking that SD provides! :birthday:

I am on Facebook every 6 months like clockwork.

Remember employers now look at peoples Facebook / MySpace pages to see if you are doing anything naughty. They look to see who your friends are as well. (Shaking head).

Now if potential employers only let us see their friends, we might not take the job. LOL

So many other business people told me "you HAVE to get on facebook to promote your business".... so I did.

here and here

I did join the SingleDivers.com group. When you search you have to type in SingleDivers.com. If you just put in SingleDivers or Single Divers you won't find it.

Being "old school" but working in the world of social networking I'm really conflicted (bifurcated ?) about the merits of facebook and other sites.

When I joined the SD group on facebook - I went through the list and tried to add folks - but they were all real names (most of which I don't know) and/or pictures that are not the same as the avatar pic here - so I know I missed a lot of my favorite posters. I'm sure I'll catch up at some point.

Having my identity taken a couple of times now, I am concerned about security - but my thefts pre-dated the social networking craze so you're never really safe.

Enjoy - feel free to add me as your friend, don't be upset if I ignore the game tokens (fish, drinks, mafia tokens) that come round.

Mark, I'll look for you :-). And you can hide mafia wars and all the other crap. Left click to the far right of the entry and a "hide" button appears. I think have over 100 event invitations that I just ignore. Life is hectic enough without increasing the cyber component.

Indeed. I don't use FB or any other forum to promote every detail of my personal life. And naughty is a very subjective thing. Where I am, wearing a skirt above the knee/uncvoered arms to work is considered naughty... :-o

If I did that here, I would get stared at too. :respect:

I should think most people wearing a skirt above uncovered arms would get looked at quite intently.

Hmmm....maybe we should change the group to Single Divers vs SingleDivers.com???

Need some help here from the FB pros! I did this as they said to promote your business so I used the company name. Kamala

I was surprised that there search algorithm didn't return singledivers.com when I typed single.

Anyway... got on facebook today and learned that a relative died. I guess all my relatives are too lazy to make a telephone call.

I'm sorry for your loss, Alan. And, it makes me wonder if I will be notified in similar circumstances, since I live quite a distance from my siblings.....

I wonder if you need to type in a wildcard, like an asterisk * after the word "single", in order for the search to find SD.com??
