I've had my mask ripped off and my air turned off at 170ft, but that was "training".

Back on one of my Explorer Ventures outings I was buddied up with one of the crew, a guy called Lowell who eventually became Captain. He had heard that I had never seen a hammerhead and assured me prior to one of our night dives that I was guaranteed to see one when we hit the water. We were swimming along and (someone who shall remain nameless as she is on this board) came up beside me and began waving her hands and kicking wildly. I looked over to see if she needed help and she stopped after a few seconds. She pointed over at Lowell and when I turned he was kneeling on the bottom facing me with a ball peen hammer in his hand pretending to hit himself in the head.

My first and only hammerhead sighting.

Remember, email is an inefficient communications forum. You may not read things the way it was intended. Give people the benefit of the doubt before firing back... Especially if it is ME...! ;)

Wasn't me but what a great story! And I remember Lowell very well! :cool1:
