If there was enough interest we could do both Raja Ampat and Mozambique....but they would have to be 2012 as we have 2 large trips for 2011 now. Any takers for 2012???

I would be in for Raj Ampat for sure. Would have to do some research on Mozambique.

I know about the Truk/Palua trip. What is the other large trip for 2011?

I was thinking of 2012 and beyond when I suggested these trips. You already have trips to Belize, this New Year, and a SingleWeek in Bonaire for March.

I agree with Bill....I've always wanted to dive the southern end of Belize! Since you're planning Ambergris Caye in January, how about the southern end in June (maybe catch some whale sharks!)

Due to my work schedule, April & May are very busy. I think the snapper start spawning in March which brings in the whalesharks. I think by June they're headed for Holbox.

This place is part of the Glover's Reef atoll, I think. Free Nitrox! :cheerleader:

Glover's Reef Atoll is a United Nations World Heritage Site. Isla Marisol is one of two resorts located on separate islets, and there is a primative camping on another.

I might be interested, but need to get a little more info. I need to start looking at my 2012 schedule now anyway to be able to get off.

After experiencing my first trip to the Cooper River, I would vote for a repeat of this trip. Even though I didnt find any of the real good treasures, I am hooked on the river diving. Ed

How about Cayman Brac or Little Cayman? I can get us a good deal for the summer/fall timeframe and they would like us to do a Single's Week there.

Awhile back we had a very intense discussion on diving Dominica... the only real limitation to me is the weight limitations but that did not seem to bother people.

I think Cooper River will be a repeat for sure since we have it practically sold out by this year's participants for next year.

I am working with EV to see if we can do Mayaguana next Labor Day Weekend...anyone interested in this? We'd fly into PLS just like we did for the T&C trip this year.

I am still looking at the Truk Palau trip but the airfare to do both is going to be very expensive so I am also looking at Komodo. Would love to have SD do a liveaboard there.

Probably will not do the Carib next year but most anywhere in the indo pacific would be of interest.

Jim

Here's one to Manado-Lembeh this November http://www.singlediv...showtopic=20615

I've been looking at liveaboards to various areas of the Indonesian coral triangle for almost three years [a year prior to the Oct 2008 SD Wakatobi trip]. Whenever I've been able to check space availability, I find 'full boat charters' prevail, making individual space limited. Some of the liveaboards open their bookings 2 years in advance, which means decisions need to made and deposits paid far in advance. Currently, I'm in the preliminary planning stage for a trip to a Raja Ampat resort and a liveaboard component for October 2013.

Bill

Bill
Full boat charters for liveaboards do not mean that you can't go on the trip. All it means is that someone has "chartered" or reserved that trip. Often you can join in on "chartered" trips by contacting the person/group that has reserved that trip. The liveaboard will put you into contact with the "organizer" to see if you can join the trip. I have done this in the past, and enjoyed the trips very much.
BTW you pay for the regular price, unless you are unwilling to share.

I like the Mayaguana idea with that awesome boat, but we got really lucky this year with the T&C trip over Labor Day falling in between some major storms.

I would look at Mayaguana next year for Labor day. Truk/Palau is still on my list if we can ever get pricing on the Palau segment. Cayman Brac/ Little Cayman is a no. Been there done that , did not like it. Cayman Brac reefs are dead. Little Cayman is ok but in my opinion nothing special However the big line in the sand for me is that The Caymans allow the locals to hunt and kill sea turtles. I won't support that financially, I don't care how good the diving is.

I didn't know this about the sea turtles...thanks for the info, Jim.

I'm adding my preference for Mayaguana, Dominica, or Mona Island (I was blowing green snots instead of bubbles).

Yes those months are juggle months...we want to go places that consider them low season so we get better pricing BUT still have good deals.

Yes we'll do a trip in June, July + Atocha and August. I may do Memorial Day weekend timeframe...

If you look historically at T&C for Labor Day weekend they have had good weather. But its certainly one I would ALWAYS do trip insurance on!
