Hello Jim,

I priced air for that trip myself yesterday. I went to Continental.com, priced air to Truk, there was a section to click for additional legs on the trip. I clicked that, and added Palau ( ROR ). The flights went from Truk back to Guam, and then to Palau. The price came in around the $2100 that was mentioned above. I didnt look too much into specifics, as I was just trying to get a feel for the cost of this trip.

Ed

I have not been able to find a connection to Palau from truk for anywhere near $400. The best fare I can come up with at this point from the west coast is over $3200.

I would also be interested in a land-based week on St. Croix, 4 dives per day. I really enjoyed diving there a few years ago, and want to go back! May through August, to avoid high season....and everything seems to shut down during the month of September there.

We've had requests for Dominica and Tobago. Both seem very cool!

Hi Kamala, At this point I will stay with T&C ( it's not like I don't want to do it :wakawaka: ) with vacation days all set at work etc it would be a hassle to change.

But thanks for the offer!

We anticipate that we'll do at least one Atocha trip for our members next year as well! :teeth:

Hi Ed, Thanks for the tip. I had not seen that option before and when I used it it did come in around $2100 even from Oregon.

I am still looking at the Truk Palau trip but the airfare to do both is going to be very expensive so I am also looking at Komodo. Would love to have SD do a liveaboard there.

Probably will not do the Carib next year but most anywhere in the indo pacific would be of interest.

Jim

Here's one to Manado-Lembeh this November http://www.singlediv...showtopic=20615

I've been looking at liveaboards to various areas of the Indonesian coral triangle for almost three years [a year prior to the Oct 2008 SD Wakatobi trip]. Whenever I've been able to check space availability, I find 'full boat charters' prevail, making individual space limited. Some of the liveaboards open their bookings 2 years in advance, which means decisions need to made and deposits paid far in advance. Currently, I'm in the preliminary planning stage for a trip to a Raja Ampat resort and a liveaboard component for October 2013.

Bill

I am looking at this trip too, but for 2012. There are always liveaboard palces avalable Bill, but operators do pefer full charters it seems.

The other trip I would love to do is Mozambique. Little is heard about the diving on Africa's mid/south West coast globally but there are quite a few South Africans in UAE and they rave about it. I would like do a week land safari and a week at a dive resort - hopefully next summer but need to do more resarch re best dive times. You fly to Dar es Salam and connect from there. Does this appeal to anyone else?

I have been considering Mozambique as well, especially since I could also visit some special friends from France in Maputo, an artist whose work I own and his wife who works with the World Bank. And I have been looking at the Banda Sea and Rajah Ampat too, with my thinking geared to back to back liveaboards, each of which last 13 days.

If there was enough interest we could do both Raja Ampat and Mozambique....but they would have to be 2012 as we have 2 large trips for 2011 now. Any takers for 2012???

Both of these sound great, too bad I could only do one big trip per year. Would want to do Raja Ampat as a liveaboard.

On a place closer to home, I've been enchanted with this place http://www.islamaris...t.com/index.php for a couple years. Looks like a good place for a SinglesWeek, might have the whole place to ourselves.

I agree with Bill....I've always wanted to dive the southern end of Belize! Since you're planning Ambergris Caye in January, how about the southern end in June (maybe catch some whale sharks!)

We talked about Thatch Caye in the past, or do you want to get down to Palencia?
