Walter,

You are surely welcome to visit Williamsburg. As is anyone else that wants to bug out. You might have to find a place on an air mattress. Willyburg at least has a Walmart so there are places to get air mattressess. I have one guest room (double bed), one couch and one air mattress.

Donna is heading back to Sebastian tomorrow.

A short trip, I hope. Sebastian is not where she wants to be on Monday or Tuesday.

Walter,

Gilboa? Is that as in Gilboa Quarry in northern Ohio?

If yes, hope you have a 7 mil or drysuit if you plan to dive. That quarry is always cold, even by my standards! Fun place though...

Let me know if you'll be in town....

Take care

Is there another Gilboa? Will a ¼" suit do?

Is there another Gilboa?  Will a ¼" suit do?

Hmmm...depends

1) Do you plan to dive the shallow side or the deep side? The deep side is obviously colder

2) Is your 1/4 a full farmer john top and bottom? I dove the shallow side for about 45 minutes in such a setup, including hood and thick gloves, and I was fine.

3) If you have a drysuit, I'd suggest bringing it, if you do plan to dive deep, or do repeated and/or extended dives.

Their website is www.divegilboa.com (in case you didin't know this)

Hey, if you end up going, give me a ring. Maybe I can drive up and see ya!
It's only about 2 1/2 hours away.

Take care

A 7 mm suit is ok, but a ¼" suit is only good for shallow? Darlin', they're almost identical.

Walter Darlin,

I know this. I was just saying that I have only dove GIlboa on the shallow side, so I don't know if you will be warm enough on the deep side, wearing a 1/4 inch and/or a 7 mil suit. Gilboa is just really cold all the time.

Jexy,

I'll show you my large milimeters sometime, but you will at least have to buy me dinner first !! :lmao:

Walter since you are online I guess you decided to stick it out, or you are waiting until tomorrow. I'm not liking the 5:00 pm projected path, but as we know that can and does change. They won't let me in Key West, not that I really want to go at this point. So I guess I will just have to wait to see it another time, that is if it is there after Tuesday.

I have visions of a diver finding the southern most point buoy and bringing it a little further east. I certainly hope I'm wrong.

Yes Jill,

I'll be home for the fun. There were several issues. Lack of fuel is one. The speed at which Ivan is traveling is another. If Ivan had continued at the same pace, it would have arrived in the area early on Monday. Since it now looks as if it'll likely arrive late Monday or early Tuesday, I'm not likely to have Monday off.

Since I'm staying and not expecting to be able to dive and I can't get out of state, I'm working tomorrow. Good luck to everyone.

Walter
