TSA FAQ's on this subject state that small differences between your boarding pass and your official ID (driver license or passport) - particularly when it comes to middle name vs middle initial vs nothing at all - should not hinder your boarding process. Guess that remains to be seen....

The good news is that if you're booking through Orbitz, they are already asking for this info when booking your flight. I booked my flight for the March 2011 Bonaire trip recently and had to answer those questions. I don't know if other flight services are doing the same.

Yeah, most sites do ask for it, but don't require it at booking. I expect that email reminders will be sent too. No airline wants to have to start losing customers because of this.

The 72 HOUR Rule is part of the program, finding the details require downloading about a 15 page PDF file. The AA link is a shorter version of info. I think the sentance to be proactive of is "To travel November 1, 2010, or later regardless of purchase date". So if you bought a ticket lets say in Jan. and show Thanksgiving day for a trip to offshore you may have a bumpy check in process with out 1st updating your frequent flyer account .

As that is only for American Airlines (the walk all the way across Texas airline ), here is the link to the TSA Secure Flight site for more general information about this "new enhancement" to improve "security" on our flights.

Edited, but the system will not let me edit my own post?!
