Anyone have both? Did you have to apply for them separately and pay for each?

So was it ever confirmed that if you are accepted into the GOES program then you are automatically in the TSA Pre program also? I've been trying to find out by reading on their website but can't really find the answer to this. I don't want to have to apply to GOES and pay $100 and then have to apply to TSA Pre and pay another $85.

As far as I am aware, once you have Global entry, you are automatically TSA precheck. You have to make sure your Global entry ID number is reflected on your boarding pass... easiest way to do that is by entering it into your frequent flyer profile. You can also enter it into the booking reservation form as you book a flight. Then wherever there is a TSA precheck line, you should be able to use it. With Southwest, I had to have them enter it at the counter. For some reason, it would not stick online. The boarding pass will then say TSA precheck...

Awesome! Thanks! I'll get my application in tonight. Hopefully it doesn't take that long to process...

Shelly - YES once you are approved for GOES, TSA Pre check is activated. That's not saying that you will always be able to use Pre-, some airports don't have it, some airlines don't use it and sometimes, they just want to make things a challenge.

UPDATE: Just got my GOES card! My interview was on Jan 30, took less than 45 mins from the time I parked in the parking garage, to the time I left. Now, I'm looking forward to using it on the way back from the MALDIVES! Wish it was good in other countries, too.
Woot Woot!

How long did it take from the time you submitted your application? I got mine in last night.

A couple of weeks, I think. Actually, you have to keep checking back into the website - they don't send you any notice, it's all on you to be excited enough to keep checking. Then, when you see you have "conditional approval" you schedule your interview. The interviews are pretty hit or miss when there will be availability - I initially thought I wouldn't get in until Feb 27, then I checked a couple of days after I took the Feb appt and Jan 30 was available.
Nice! I'll stay on top of it then! Thanks!
