$4195 for AIRFARE from JFK to Cairo + 7 nites on the luxurious Blue O Too liveaboard fleet + 4 nites 5 Star accommodations with 2-3 day sightseeing the pyramids including Luxor! This is all inclusive except for possibly one lunch/dinner along the way.

We'll do the premium Southern Itinerary but we'll add some of the signature wrecks of the Red Sea to the intinerary as well.

The dates would be April 25-May 7th.

Darn! I've already committed to diving with some friends in April. I've always wanted to dive the Red Sea! Won't be able to make this one. :tears:

Rats Ellen! Check with me before you book any more non-SD diving! LOL!

And maybe it will not be in April...so far no positive response yet. :(

I should be recovered from my Africa trip by then. If you twist my arm a bit, I expect you could convince me to join you on another long venture. Of course, you need a lot more interest, which may be difficult on such short notice for a trip that size.

I also have a line on a trip to St Croix as well as to Aruba. Possibly another place if the dates are available.

I might be convinced to dive the Red Sea. Do I recall hearing that a minimum
number of dives are required to dive the Red Sea?

St Croix sounds interesting too - are you thinking Feb?

We can talk in Roatan.

Six sleeps.

In 2010, the Red Sea trip required a minimum of 50 logged dives, OR a c-card for DiveMaster or above. That was a requirement handed down by the marine park in Egypt, so I bet it would still be the same in 2012.

It seems like a really good price, but is the reason due to the government unrest and the Arab Spring? Is it a good time to be going to Egypt?

The last trip in 2010 was 5/28 to 6/12 (or so). The water temp in June was 79 to 80 degrees for the week, so I imagine the water temps will be cooler in April. But, the land temps were very high in early June, 110+, and some found it difficult to sightsee in those temps. In April, the air temps would be more tolerable to most people.

So, my take is April will give you better sightseeing temps and you'll have to wear a little neoprene.

If the diving is from the Blue O Two MV Sea Sound, that is an excellent boat, very stable even during rough overnight crossings.

I'm more inclined to jump on a st croix or aruba trip depending on price point.

April 28 is my birthday, and Mark was supposed to go to the next Red Sea trip (and I was going to try to do my best and get into his suitcase, LOL) ...hmm...thinking I should consider this trip. :teeth:

I agree, this type of trip needs to be posted a long way out, because few people can come up with $5k at a snap (gotta allow for getting to JFK, tips & spending money!)....many who may want to go, may need to make progress payments over a long period of time in order to swing it. It's great diving, and I'd love to go back! Can't in 2012, though, as all vacation is already spoken for.

You already have a big trip planned for 2013 - Maldives & Indonesia. A return to Truk is planned for when? I forget. Maybe Red Sea can come after that...or maybe a return to a different island in Fiji....
