Christmas Eve and Christmas morning is all about family, and extended family. Christmas afternoon is about friends & a traditional holiday meal....I get to bring pies!
I've taken the week off the diet....I haven't gone crazy, but Christmas only comes once a year, and life is TOO SHORT to do without some of my traditional favorites.

I will again be unleashing my Inner Iron Chef this weekend.
With no living family, I seldom take the opportunity to make complete meals for myself, so any chance to keep up my kitchen skills is a big plus.

This will be my first Christmas since my mother passed away, so I will pause to reflect. Then I'm going to live it up! I'm grilling fillet mignon and drinking a nice bottle of wine on Christmas day. I'm off the whole week, so the next day I'm going to dive the quarry (brr) so I can video someone who's working on passing GUE fundies and to pick up a spare set of doubles. After that, its off to Luraville and High Springs, FL for a week of relaxing cave diving. Unfortunately, I'll eventually have to come back to work so I can pay for my scuba addiction.

Lucky to have a busy week planned. "wine night" with my sisters and friends as Adele and Will arrive tonight. (sister/brother in law). Christmas Eve: mom and dads, Christmas Day: inlaws, Boxing Day with friends and finally our kids on the 27 for supper. I will be exhausted by the time I go back to work on Wednesday. But for me that's what Christmas is all about, lots of people and noise!
Wishing everyone a great week, just the way you like it and safe travel for everyone.

Much like Joe (grim reefer), this will be the first Christmas since my Mom passed earthly bonds.
This afternoon/early evening, I'll be ushering two Christmas masses at my church. Then I'll go to Milford, CT, to spend Christmas Eve with my cousin and her family. Tomorrow, I'll be in Port Chester, NY, for Christmas dinner with one of my Mom's cousins.
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

Christmas gift suggestions: to your enemy, forgiveness. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect.--Oren Arnold
