Has this site considered a chat room? Would anyone else be interested? I think it would be another great way to meet others! :cool1:

Hi Linda,

An excellent suggestion. We'll discuss the feasibility of the idea. In the meantime, I hope others chime in with their thoughts on the topic.

Please post an intro in the New to SingleDivers.com forum. We'd love to get to know you.

I had thought about a chat room at one time, but may be difficult to have a discussion when you get a bazillion people online.

I appreciate getting to know others better through PM's and was thinking that an instant messaging feature would be good - as opposed to a chat room. Or maybe several chat rooms....

Doesn't "bling bling" mean something else?

I agree it would be a great idea, but the think I like about the threaded board (like we have) is that I can post comments without having to be sitting there all day.

That said, it would be fun... and another distraction from work ;-)

Thanks for the feedback. My thought was simply a chat room would be a great way to have immediate interaction. I chat in a singles chat room from time to time and most of the time the place really flies I can hardly keep up so I focus on just one or two conversations.

From what I have seen this site is still rather new and there are never tons of people on line at one time (at least not when I have been here). Anyway I thought it would be a great way to meet others you might never meet any other way especially if you are not into boards and forums.

I guess time will tell :cool2:

Chat rooms can be fun but I agree.. not enough people to have one running all the time. A different/non diving forum I read has a chat room but they encourage people to drop in Sunday evenings only. We could try a trial run by doing the same and see what kind of response we get.

I had thought about a chat room at one time, but may be difficult to have a discussion when you get a bazillion people online.

well, so far, there are rarely more than 10 members online at any one time.

but i'm sure there are other reasons it would be a problem
OK, lets make a deal. If you stop telling me how to dive, I'll stop going down to the bus station at 2am to slap d***s out of your mouth.

Hey I think it is a great idea!!

And as the site expands we will definately have more people online; and I also think a chat room is a function most internet users are used too. Also, it might be a good way to engage some of the members who are not as active in the posts.

and send some of that bling bling this way! :dazzler:
