I'd be interested in diving Fiji during xmas 2013 into new year 2014. It may not work for a group trip, but I'd like info to go on my own. All suggestions are welcome.

I am SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING THIS...

I have asked for availability...
I am interested in Beqa Lagoon and another resort Wananavu so we can dive the Bligh Waters. The timeframe would be good temperature wise and take advantage of the holiday. I would do it for Dec 26-Jan2 holiday week for the first week and then Jan 2-9 for the 2nd week. This would allow people to do one week or both. Susan would that work for you? If you wanted to arrive even earlier to cover the xmas week we could find yet a 3rd place for you to stay if you liked!

The price of each week in Fiji is so reasonable that you can afford to do 2 weeks if you can get the time off. The people are SO AMAZING and you'll feel you are truly someplace exotic!

I would love to do Fiji, but these dates would most likely not work. Possibly the 2nd week.....I'll keep watching.

Just a quick plug. Beqa Lagoon was amazing. I got my OW certification there in April 2012. There was some damage to the reefs due to the storms they had, and the first few days had slightly more limited visibility, but it was AMAZING. I know I don't have much to compare to as a new diver, but the resort was amazing, the people phenomenally gracious and the diving remarkable.

Ask for Missi as your DM. He and Dix were the best.

If you book this, I'd upgrade to premium membership and join you Jan 2-9...that's how much I loved it.

Since Saba / St Kitts is now over New Years what dates are most likely for Fiji?

I could not get a feel for how many people would do this trip at any given time nor if they would do it for NYE timeframe. I think we need to open a NEW topic and get new input or totally refresh this one and get new input.

I sort of gave up on a specific date but I have not given up on doing Fiji as I really loved it the last time we went and the next trip I'm planning will be even better!

With all but Nov-ish timeframe of 2013 booked already and *possibly mid Oct* (although we are skirting weather a bit in that timeframe) I am not clear when we can do it.

I am open for suggestions...

Fiji is a must do for me so if you can push it to 2014 that would be great! My dance card is already full for 2013.

I think our best options is to push to 2014. We'll have Galapagos and Truk but we may be able to do it. Let's see how those trips fill out first and we'll work on it.

Of course if people want to go on their own or as a small group we can set you up like we did Ed and his buddies. />

If the trip is right, I'll go back to Fiji anytime. Other than Galapagos, 2014 is wide open for me, at this point.

Fiji, my second home. I would do two weeks in 2014 even New Years (my next bday) I've been in November/december of '09 and February/march '11, the weather is better in the winter. Spring/summer is rainy season. I have a summer place so I will probably only do trips winters between September & April. They have some really great day trips. I went on a river rafting trip and a river kayaking trip. I've also done the Tiger shark dive. I'll have to bring the DVD with on my 1st trip. I would definitely add a week or two on to this trip to visit old friends. I stayed on a very small island, there are lots of them. They rent you a burrow(thatched hut) very limited amenities. Rain water showers, 1 central toilet/shower area, limited electricity. If you've ever wanted to be Robinson Caruso these islands are your best bet. I had culture shock after returning the first time. It made me see modern civilization in a whole new, not necessarily better way. away from the things of man....

I'm interested in Fiji for 2014 (on the assumption late 2013 is now out) -- but can't do January.

I'd also like to put in a random request for a Great Barrier Reef liveaboard trip sometime...?
