I lost power at about 5:30 on Monday and got it back around 1:30 this morning. There are still some in the area who are without electricity and may be so through the weekend. Fortunately, there was no damage.
All of the classes that I teach at Mercy College were cancelled for the week--too many electrical problems.

Hi All,
Doing just fine here in the Big Apple. I never lost power and the storm didnt do much damage here on the Upper East Side. I'm feeling very fortunate and am saddened for my fellow NY'ers who have to contend with catastrophic loss.

I've attached a picture of part of the boardwalk at Playland Amusement Park, in Rye, NY, which is right around the block from where I grew up. Also, here's a video that a local radio station in Connecticut made to show how Hurricane Sandy affected Connecticut.
