FORM NOW WORKING IN THE FORMS/DOCUMENTS FORUM! -ww

It has come to my attention (thank you Pearldiver) that the Explorer Ventures Application for Galapagos has been destroyed in the Forms Section. We will get that fixed.

You will need to fill out this form and fax it to Explorer Ventures. The fax number is at the top of the form. Please send it to both EV and SingleDivers.com

Thanks, Amy! Good info. I've just come to expect this as an add-on when I'm going on diving vacations. I had never purchased trip insurance before going to San Sal earlier in the month. To me, it just makes sense to have the security that comes along with it. Eventually, I know it's going to pay back. Sooner or later, fate will throw an insurmountable obstacle my way that is unavoidable. Mitigating risk. Add a few thousand dollars in dive gear on top of the cost of the trip & it just makes sense, long term, to me. Moving forward, I plan on just getting an annual policy that would be applicable to all of my travel. So far, it seems to average about 15% of the cost of the trip, or less. WHEN I eventually do have to use it, I'm certain it'll be worth the cost of those policies that I did buy & was fortunate enough to never have to use.

Welcome to the trip Patrick!

Did you mean to choose S/O? From what I understand it is crazy expensive. Check with WW on the cost.

Good afternoon, all.

I have been travel insurance shopping for a few days. DAN is inexpensive. My only issue is that this trip is far far away and anything can happen. DAN will only give you 50% back for 'canceling for ANY reason' 48 hours before the trip. There are 2 good sites for comparison shopping. Squaremouth and InsureMyTrip.com. I wound up getting insurance through MHRoss for $476 for $6000 coverage. It will pay me back 80% of my trip if I cancel for any reason before 48 hours. I don't plan to, but you never know.
