Got my ticket...will spend a couple of days before the show in Texas to be with my mom on her birthday and then head to Phoeniz the 20th where Tim has graciously offered to pick me up and help with the booth set up that afternoon. Traci flies in around 7pm so we may do a late dinner (need to figure out the details) or just have a quick drink and call it an early evening. We'll then do the show for Sat and Sun with a group dinner and Happy Hour after each night of the show so that we can hang out with EVERYONE that can join us. Monday I'll work in the am and then visit a relative in the PM and then Traci has offered to take me to the airport on Tuesday am.

So the general plan is set and I'll work out the remaining details with the AWESOME SD.com volunteers and members in the area.

Awesome, I fly in around 6:15ish pm. on the 20th. Will be there also for setup and breakdown, with my bro and possibly a niece that has moved back from Brazil. Kamala I will pm you about hotel and stuff. It's gonna be a lot of fun. /> /> />

I can bring my two teenagers for sweat equity purposes on Friday, if necessary. They owe me.

Thanks Tim...I use a suitcase set up so not much sweat equity needed!

Mostly just time on my part and access to a copier so I don't have to bring heavy paper with me in my carry on for our trip flyer, registration slips etc!

Well I have been looking for half an hour for information on the Phoenix Dive Show in September and what all is going on. I said I could work the booth both days. Where will the booth be, what do I need to bring and where is the HAPPY HOUR that night going to be so I can get a hotel close by?? Who all am I working with? Are you going to be there Kamala?? Where are you going to stay ? - D

Ok found it online and saw we are booth 59. So do I buy a ticket or is there a discount for people who are working the booth? What time should I be there, can you message me, who ever is setting up. -
Anyone have Friday off for Lake Pleasent or is it worth it? I've never been there.

Hey Belinda...we'll have a free ticket for you for the show for helping! Sorry it took so much time to get the info...we should limit this topic to the AZ Dive Show since that is what its about! LOL!

Right now I'm either staying with Traci at her home or with Kathy at the show hotel. You'll need a place to stay too as will others coming from Tuscon or other places in the state of Arizona.

It will be great to see you...its been waaaayyyyy tooooooooo long!

What day(s) are you planning to help? We will need all the help we can get and YES I'll be in the booth both days! Kamala

I couldn't find the Arizona dive show thread. I like the old website better.
I can work both days just tell me when you will be starting ect. Are there rooms at the dive show? Can you send me info please.

So, I've been looking for Happy Hour venues - do we want to do the same place each night or spread it around? I'm thinking Alice Cooperstown would be an option and possibly Seamus McCaffrey's, an Irish pub. The Diamondbacks aren't playing in town, so we won't have to fight that crowd, so parking may not be so bad. Let me know what you think or if there are other options within walking distance of the convention center and I'll check them out or make reservations.

UPDATE:

I just merged posts from Belinda that were in the AZ HH planning thread into this topic AND I added a list for those wanting to join us for dinner after the show on Sunday.

So the Happy Hour/Dinner is on Saturday after the show (hopefully walking distance to the show) and our Wrap Up Dinner is on Sunday after the show and breakdown of the booth (also hopefully within walking distance of the show.)

And finally I've added a list for people needing a place to stay ie. a couch, hotel or accommodations in Phoenix.

I have found that walking distance to the show is the BEST for a variety of reasons including people not getting lost! LOL! But if we can't find something good walking distance then I am open for suggestions.

We'll also need to eat on Sunday so I've added a list for peeps to sign up to join us after breakdown of the show, for a bite to eat. Ideally this is also walking distance or close by and when we are done...people head home.
