After looking up Wakatobi, all I could think was "Da plane boss, da plane!" Posted Image Would Wakatobi be a liveaboard or shore based trip? No matter what, Indonesia is on the list and this looks like a beautiful location. I am VERY interested :)

We would do it landabased as you get TONS of diving and they spend about 40% of the liveaboard dives doing the landbased sites.

Yes this is a diver's dream come true....

I am ALSO working on Raj Ampat which is on my personal bucket list as well as Wakatobi!

Raja Ampat liveaboard? According to my research, I'd like to go in the late Feb to early May time frame. What are you thinking? And will it include Misool?

Actually I'm looking at Wakatobi for 2014 and Raj Ampat for 2016!

2015 is filling up, too (Fiji, Sicorro, ???).

Cocos is still on my radar, as well.

Then, Truk 2016.

Actually I'm looking at Wakatobi for 2015 and Raj Ampat for 2016!

Erring on the side of caution...we are avoiding the Red Sea with a large group until things calm down more. For now articles such as THIS worry me when planning a trip anytime soon. Sadly even if the region is safe the perception that it is not is as bad as it actually being unsafe.

Heck, since we are out this far. Anyone thought of diving the Cook Islands.

I'm game -- Timing is everything, of course, but pushing my explorations further into the Pacific region is a big interest of mine.

Anyone ever been to San Andres Island? Apparently its just south of Roatan, and sounds promising as an alternative in that part of the world. Looks like its a direct flight from Panama City, which United is adding direct flights from Denver starting in December.

How about Papua New Guinea in 2016? Spacediver and I are looking at a Silversea cruise Sept 20, 2016. Very expensive. It has both land tours and diving. Is there any dive trip that we could do instead? Seems like the dive boats are all expensive too. Anyone want to join us?!

You may want to consider the Raja Ampat [the western/Indonesian side of Papua] trip - care should be taken, it will spoil you for diving anywhere else.

Am I correct in thinking that everyone's already been to Xcalak?  I'd love to go but so far haven't found anyone interested in the long drive from Cancun.

Xcalak is a bit of a distance from Cancun.  SD did a trip there in 2012 so I know some members have been there.  From what I remember hearing the diving was good.

Explorer Ventures was going to have a boat stationed there but it never panned out.  A shame because, I was looking forward to that.  (liveaboard lover).

Clint is right, our last SingleDivers.com sponsored trip to Xcalak was 2012.

More recently we have been sponsoring a combination Cozumel (~3 days) / Cenotes (~1 day) / Holbox (~2 days) timed for the height of the whale shark migration through the Holbox area. Unfortunately that combo trip is dormant for 2015 and possibly 2016 to avoid burnout with our repeat members. :tears:

However this is the perfect topic for bringing up Xcalak! Kamala relies heavily on our feedback and suggestions for planning the out years late 2016 - 2017 and beyond. Plus if you or a small group have your heart set on Xcalak, Kamala has contacts in that region and can probably land you a reservation with the benefit of a repeat group discount. :thankyou: Thanks for your input!

I've seen some suggestions for Malta and enthusiastically chime in my support for that suggestion. I'd also love to dive the Red Sea.
