Ed, I agree with you. I wouldn't expect much and if Kamala doesn't have time to check I'm OK with that. You're probably correct about the fee being an additional surcharge on top of a normal diving package although from the website it's not clear. I also agree and hope that there is likely a guide for the trip that would come along with us to tour the island. From what I've read the marine park pass including jelly fish lake seems to include access to most of the areas in Palau. If the tour w/ diving ends up heading north of $100 I'll have to reconsider.
Depending on how things workout it might in fact be a spectacular addition.
I would not expect any discount based on having already paid for the diving day, unless the Wench can work some magic. Even with that, i would expect very little. I believe it is a surcharge over a regular day of diving due to the distance they need to run to bring people there. I would guess that there is also a fee for a guide for the land based portion, as I could not believe that it would be an unescorted tour. There may also be a fee attached to touring the island. That said, I agree with Jerry. Palau is a long way to travel to, a lot of money to do, and this looks like a fabulous add on if it is do able. I vote for it. Ed
Jerry, if we play it by ear (I'm not sure I would want to commit just yet) when we get to Palau this also might interest me. We could decide soon once we got there if it's still an option. We would still get the diving in but also a nice land tour with what I'm sure are some beautiful areas of the island.
It shows $85 for the trip per person but I wonder if because we already paid for two boat dives per day if they would be willing to give us a slight discount on the dive portion. I'm sure this is farther than their normal boat dive trips so I can understand if it's not a full discount for the two dives in Pelilu. I know Kamala is setting up a number of other things already so I wouldn't want to add this to the mix necessarily.
