Congrats on getting the earlier appointment. I was just about to post to check back later because i got an earlier appointment when I logged in a couple of days later. It took my about three weeks to get the card too, but if i remember correctly, all you really need is the trusted traveler number anyway. The card you get in the mail is just for travel between the US and Canada, and I think Mexico also. Your current passport will go into the system as Global Entry approved once you're done with your interview and they have your fingerprints/photo in the system, and that's all you really need anyway.

I did my interview at the Atlanta airport the day after Thanksgiving. At that time the TSA agent confirmed my approval and gave me my Trusted Traveler Number. Then within a week I received my card.
The only challenge I had in the whole process was scheduling the interview. It was almost 5 weeks after my online application was approved before I could get a time slot.
Looking forward to using it next week when I go to Bonaire!

I just used my GOES status for the first time on a trip! :clapping:/> It all went very well at the Houston airport. I was flying United. Was able to do the PreCheck even though I added it to my profile information AFTER I had booked my flight. When I printed my boarding pass the PreCheck status was listed as well. Coming back into Houston was AWESOME!!!! I missed all the long lines at customs. The "receipt" that prints was looked for as I left the baggage area as well and was directed to move ahead quickly, without delay! I loved it for my home airport, which was the reason I applied to begin with. It didn't do me any good in Grand Caymans airport. They did have a designated line for trusted travelers, but you were helped at check in first come first serve. I was the last person to get through check in in my group! :lmao:/>

On another note........have you ever been taken OFF the plane to do a "random" luggage check?? It was in Grand Cayman on the flight back to Houston. They paged me while on the plane and asked me to come to the front of the plane......REALLY hard to do from the back of a plane while it's loading!!!! :-D/> They lead me back into the airport to a room with my "checked" bag laying on a table. Only after the "interrogation" they assured me it was a random check and that they had failed to put my name on the list where our boarding passes were checked "before" boarding the plane. I couldn't help but wonder if it was due to my new "trusted" status???? :lmao:/>

I have had MORE checks since being a TRUSTED traveler...especially right after getting it. However now after doing it for two years I am no longer called in for those 'random security checks'. I can't prove my theory but it sure 'seems' that way to me.

I'm not sure what the record is but I submitted my application a week ago. I just scheduled my interview. I could do it at Dulles tomorrow or the day after Christmas at the office in downtown DC. I had to pick a date in January since I won't even be back until then.

I'm on the phone with Guiness right now, I think you not only have the record for fastest Global Entry, but also fastest anything has ever gotten done in Washington ever!

A word to the wise...my application was denied because I SELF DISCLOSED a prior that had been expunged from my record. Minor marijuana thing from when I was 20. So, it's OK not to give them more information than they ask for! Sucks to be me!

Good luck teaming up with WW. Tim and I have sent her running for cover to hide her blushing cheeks! Nothing funnier than the wench speechless and blushing, and that was before happy hour even started. :-D/>
