Hey gang... just saw Mike's revised post to say 4 nite so was going on 3 nite since that is what everyone had said so far. I have a day longer to revise... I also have asked about Cathay Pacific if we can do a contract with them...so far only Singapore Air and Korean Air. We can do the Bali pkg with or without the air. I am checking to see how many spots I need on the contract because to get one we have to lock in a certain number of passengers.

 

Here is what I am working to lock in:

 

If the earliest we want to leave is the 7^th here is the package we could do:

Singapore Airlines     October 7, 2015     Los Angeles - Singapore (via Narita)     345pm - 3am (9 OCT)

Singapore Airlines     October 9, 2015     Singapore - Denpasar  820am - 11am

Singapore Airlines     October 23, 2015     Denpasar - Singapore (via Narita)      945pm - 1220am

Singapore Airlines     October 24, 2015     Singapore - Los Angeles 920am - 1255pm

Base fare $700 + taxes of $634.50 per person = $1,334.50 per person

October 9 – 12, 2015

If we want our gear to dry on the 11^th (Wakatobi has fairly strict baggage regulations) then we have to limit ourselves to one day of diving.  We can choose from the following:

 

3 Day Dives at Tulamben Bay incl. USAT Liberty Shipwreck

OR

3 Day Dives in Nusa Penida incl. Manta Point and Mola Mola Sites

 

Please let me know which you would prefer so I can do the final pricing. Do we want to add the VIP immigration service, it is $35 per person, but helps with the expedition of customs by 1-3 hrs! The package with 3 nights and 1 day of diving will be under $500 per person. 

 

The transfer from the airport to the hotel is 1 – 1.5 hours.

IF I am able to do this trip, I'm definitely in on the air contract.  For a trip of this magnitude, I need to have a budget in mind & we're close...

Would prefer Mola Mola & Mantas to wreck dive.  Never seen Mola Mola underwater...

Either dive option is OK, as long as they are long dives (60 to 75 min).

Thanks for the input. There is a chance to see the Mola Mola's and not a great dive if we don't see them...typically a current dive. The mantas are pretty cool. The wreck is one of the most beautiful I've seen with relief as low as 20 feet and as deep as 100+ It has amazing growth on it, electric clams, and more life than most reefs.

 

I will *see* if we can get a dive in the day of arrival but usually it's hard to do with clearing customs, getting to the hotel etc. I will also get baggage allowances from Wakatobi as well to see if we can sneak the last day of diving in. Kamala

I'm up for mantas and mola mola. Cathay pacific will be flying out of Boston soon, so I'm thinking of leaving from the East coast..

Is that hotel near Padand Bai where we stayed last time?

Yes it's near where we stayed before since that is the beach area.

 

Now I'm in a quandary...I have to set up the contract and the only person interested is not sure they can do the trip. Not sure what to do...

When we depart Wakatobi on October 23rd, what time do we arrive back at DPS  (Bali) airport?

 

I want to be sure to allow plenty of time to get off the Wakatobi to Bali flight before trying to get on my international flight to return home. There's a flight departing at 4pm, but this might not allow enough time.

 

Is there a hotel close to the airport if we need to spend the night, or to use as a day room?
