:dltears: I still miss SRV. Saw him 8 times in concert. What an unbelievable talent.Stevie Ray Vaughan (RIP) - any of his works
Right now I'm listening to a weird ambient/electronica "band" called Delerium... sorta trance type stuff.
I'm also a total mixed bag where music is concerned... I generally don't care for hip-hop, but beyond that I've got a collection of everything... EVERYTHING.
I just finished the project of importing my entire music library into iTunes... it currently sits at about 80 gigs of music (I know, I'm a nerd)... roughly 15,000 songs. I don't watch TV much at all, and when I do it's usually a documentary of some kind. But I've ALWAYS got music playing... even when I sleep.

(oh, and I have a couple of selections of native South Pacific music... picked up a couple of CDs when I was in Fiji... VERY cool stuff! Would really enjoy getting some Aboriginal tunes too, but don't know where to look... any ideas?)

Try hitting the AMG website, David. They have a section where you can search for music by either Genre or Country.Would really enjoy getting some Aboriginal tunes too, but don't know where to look... any ideas?)
As well, if ever you're in San Francisco or Berkeley, Amoeba Music is the most AMAZING record store! Sadly, they don't do mail order, I believe. :dltears:
As for my CD player, I am currently spinning 5 of my latest purchases:
"Guero" - Beck (Punchier than "Mutations" for sure.)
"Peddlin' Dreams" - Maria McKee (Undecided at this time.)
"Out of Exile" - Audioslave (Rock God? Thy name is Chris Cornell! )
"Back to Me" - Kathleen Edwards (I'm in Canada -- we have strict Cdn content rules! )
"Magic Time" - Van Morrison (The name speaks for itself -- no comment needed!)
If I can recommend my latest *fave rave* ever since I discovered her over a year ago . . .
Gillian Welch (Speechless! Neither words nor emoticons can describe my enthusiasm for this woman!)
On the computer at the moment, it's a whole other world . . .
Rap, Dance, Bluegrass, Folk, Classic Rock.

Gillian Welch is very cool. I've got one of her albums (Soul Journey, I think?) - do you have any of her other stuff? If I can recommend my latest *fave rave* ever since I discovered her over a year ago . . .

Have you heard Damien Rice? He's not exactly in the same genre as Gillian Welch, but there's a similarity in the simplicity and rawness of the sound. I really enjoy Damien Rice, but in small doses (except Volcano... I hear that song over and over again in my head). I'm also partial to Howie Day, which is another several steps towards pop, but I think he's very talented... Australia was a good CD, and he kicks ass live.
Different genre entirely: I'm a big Loreena McKennitt (and Clannad) fan as well.
And thanks for the recommendation on AMG... will check it out.
