Part of our schedule includes time for sight seeing and extra tours in Bali. I have requested options from our tour operator and will post those shortly. Its possible we have some basic sightseeing already built into the pkg but I will check. If we do its light touring options and you may wish to plan add'l touring on your own that exceeds what we have included and what we can set up for you.

 

I will shortly have what we may have included in the pkg and what options are available for us to help set up. Then you can decide how you want to proceed to incorporate add'l touring etc.

 

Several of you are arriving earlier than the group so have been doing some research already. This will hopefully also keep us from duplicating efforts as well.

 

p.s. Feel free to let us know if you are interested in:

 

• Basic sightseeing done to/from the hotel and during downtime not diving
• More extensive touring that requires hiring a guide and transportation
• No sightseeing or touring...I just want to relax, dive and catch up on sleep

I was in Bali for several days in March.  We did a few days of guided tours around the island.  The company that we used was rsv@adimelali.com.  A 10-12 hour day cost $60.00.  The streets were crazy, and it was great to have someone else driving and showing us the area, for a cost similar to what I would have expected to pay to rent a car myself.  It was a very nice add on to the trip.  Ed

TOURING UPDATE:

 

Some of you will have time on the 9th depending on when you arrive to do some touring then. (Also you will get an informal tour as you ride to the hotel from the airport.)

We dive the 10th

The 11th is ENTIRELY FREE FOR TOURING AND SIGHTSEEING

We depart for the Bali airport on the 12st early am. (Time will be confirmed asap)

3 DAY BALI ADD-ON PKG $514 $499:     

• 3 nights accommodation Garden View Bungalows at Bayside Bungalows Candidasa
• Daily breakfast
• Diving on October 10th – Meet in Hotel Lobby at 8:30am for transfer to Tulamben Bay (approx. 1 hour) for 3 day dives, including USAT Liberty shipwreck.
• Land transfer to Tulamben Bay on dive day
• Airport transfers (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes) from/to Bali

I would like to do some sightseeing while we are in Bali. I would hate to have been and not seen any of the local sights.

Thanks for the feedback Chris. I know Susan wants to do some touring and I know some of the gals gals arriving early will want to tour as well during their early days...just not sure what and when.

I'm up for a maximum day of tourism on Oct 11th -- since we can't dive that day, then let's go see as much as possible.

Me too for Oct 11th stuff! I couldn't get to Bali earlier because of company, but will arrive at 12:05am on Oct 11, so at least that day is mine.

SUGGESTION:

 

Several people are arriving early and want to know what the group is doing so they can do other things The Bali hotel can help set up tours as well as the company Ed suggested.

 

My suggestion is to save the Ubud area which has artisans, shopping and close proximity to some of the temples for the GROUP tour day of the 11th. Even if you do see the area ...its worth seeing it again.

 

If no one objects ....for those arriving early PLEASE SAVE THE UBUD AREA FOR  THE GROUP TOUR!!!  We should be able to set it up with the hotel when we arrive and/or use the operator Ed suggested.

 

If anyone wants to spearhead this...please jump in.

I agree that the 11th would be a great day for the Ubud tour. Since I will be arriving on the 8th I can help with setting this up if you like. Let me know the numbers and I can check with the hotel and with the company that Ed used. If someone else knows what they are doing, even better.

Does anyone want to contact the company Ed suggested or should I just reach out to the hotel? If we talk to them when we arrive we should have enough time to get ti all set up.
