Our next largest group is our 56 Canadians. We'll look at the concept very carefully over the next few days. Thanks for the suggestion.

the 4 or 5 of us here could join the kanook sector ...atleast i wont mind...if it helps....

Walter it would be interesting to know some of the breakdowns of memberships. Men vs Women. How many from each state. I am not asking for a 20 page detailed statistical analysis but if there is something at your fingertips? Jay

Unfortunately, I'm working when I should be diving, so no numbers are at my fingertips just now. The male/female breakdown isn't available, but we outnumber the women. That means we need to recruit more women. I do have numbers from various locations available, since you're interested, I'll dig them out when I get home.

Sorry Ray, there's 23 of ya.

It would be nice if the other 22 NJ divers posted here once in awhile :)

The NC gang had the same problem but Rich and Linda decided to do something about it. They contacted all the SD members from the area to let them know that there was 'life' at SD in NC! While they were at it they put the word out on other boards and e-lists and ended up finding a bunch more people who were interested in learning more about SD as well as to dive! In fact they had 21 or 22 people at the Social Hour this week in the RDU area!!! :fish:

You might try something similar...-ww

Keep in mind, that's 21 folks at the happy hour when they only had 31 members in North Carolina at the time. I'm impressed!

Very few current SD's showed up at the Happy Hour, most were others who saw the posting. I think of the 21-23 (not everyone signed in), only a handful were actually existing SD members. I know of 2 that signed up after seeing the blurb, and they did attend (Bobby, and NCDeepdivergirl).

At least 1 signed up as a result of the Happy Hour. Our next event is February 25th.
