are there any restrictions against scooters?

That's a question that will have to be asked of each operator. Some operators have no restrictions, some don't allow them at all, some require both members of a buddy team have a scooter if either does.

Here ar ethe directions and a map for Friday's dives on Diversity if anyone needs them.  I will be going straight to the boat.

Getting to Diversity is one of the more confusing routes if you are new to town.
The map -may- look simple, but I hope I can give y'all a good clue as to how to find the boat.

1. Get to Hillsboro Blvd in Deerfield. From either I-95 or Federal Hwy, or even Dixie Hwy. Chances are, if you're coming from LBTS you'll be I-95.

2. From Hillsboro Blvd, find Dixie Hwy. It runs parallel to the railroad tracks.
Head north on Dixie from Hillsboro Blvd.

3. About a block north of Hillsboro you hit a stop sign, then you will see Dixie make a jog -over- the railroad tracks. Don't cross the tracks! Looking straight across and a bit west you will see an access road. It continues parallel to Dixie on the west side of the RR tracks and heads up into what looks like a warehouse district. That's the road you want.

4. Follow that road up. It makes a sharp turn left, and thru a chain link gate, then into a boatyard. You're almost there.

5. Drive past the boat racks. On the left will be a parking lot, on the right is an unpaved area where everyone parks to unload. Park there first. Walk down the walkway on the right (east) to the docks and you will find Diversity to the left.

Unload gear ... move car to parking lot ... get on boat ... dont forget to tip yer divemaster!

Thanks for all of those that don't know how to get there. I've been several times, so it isn't a problem for me. But, it is a difficult place to find the first time you go.

Richard & I have checked with all the dive ops & all will allow scooters. No limitations defined by anyone.

Scooter Update:

I also just checked with them and the only caveat was if your buddy doesn't have a scooter you need to be riding '2 man'.

Ok I have just posted the pricing for everyone based upon the number of dives you've requested and other options such as hotel, cookout etc.

One last update from Kamala for anyone who is not already here or on their way:

- Captian Tony on the Diversity includes tax in his price, so that will be a flat rate.

-Taxes in the Keys are slightly higher- 7 1/2 %

The "Facts" thread has been updated, we just wanted to call anyone's attention to it before hand if at all possible!

Richard & his son Walter- AKA W2- arrived yesterday, as did Randy & they are alll taking care of tanks & airport pickups. Kamala snuck into Miami late last night & will be around sometime today at the hotel. She's going to be running around getting everything set up for the BBQ & greeting folks as the arrive at the hotel. I'll be home from work at about 5:30 PM & all are welcome at Chez Marvel's any time after that!
