Dating non-divers doesn't work
Dating women who say they want to dive doesn't work, they never ever get certified.
My problem is I'm looking for a diver who would like to live on a sailboat in the tropics, I may have a long long wait!
By all that is wet, I do hereby swear, (politely), and attest, upon pain of never diving again, (real or imagined), that I understand and affirm, that I agree to the above.

My girlfriend was yelling at me that all I ever think about is diving...
I said, "I do not.......... what was the question?"

or, even better, is they say they want to get certified, usualy along with the line about how it has been something they have always wanted to do. and then, later on, usualy during the breakup, she says she always hated diving, and resents the fact that you "forced" her to learn to dive.
yeah, not doing that again.
if she ain't already a diver, i'm not interested, i don't care if it's Avril. lol

I've dated women in the past who had an interest and I have gone through their certifications with them but then you wind up diving on their learning curve.
This discussion kind of reminds me of when I was in college. I used to surf every single morning and one girlfriend I had started complaining about it. I told her "if I spent as much time on you as I do on my board we might not be having this conversation!" Needless to say, very shortly thereafter I was encouraged to seek out other dating opportunities.

One trick I found: I used to internet date and you can filter profiles by keyword.Where do I meet these mythical female divers?

You have clearly been taking the wrong trips! At least the ratio is more evenly distributed on SD trips, and you'd have a chance to meet some of the TX or FL (or insert state here) female divers. Some of us are more addicted to diving than you guys are!Where do I meet these mythical female divers? It seems almost every dive trip I go on is filled with male divers... why is this sport so unbalanced in that respect? I think all the female divers live in Texas or Florida (with a few sprinkled in Virginia and Vancouver).
Seriously, I think there is a lot to be said for finding someone who already dives and isn't doing it (or any other hobby) to please you or to be with you. And on the flip side, it would be very challenging to be in a relationship with someone who doesn't enjoy the same activities you are passionate about and prefers to sit on the sidelines while you do your thing.

I know, I must have said it a couple of times now...why are they always from texas? is it becasue things are bigger in texas, is it becasue things are hotter in texas? I don't know, all i do know is that California is grossly underpopulated in this respect...populated well in other respects, but not this one...

Not always true! I got certified because an ex talked me into it- he's long gone but not before I "stole" one of his tanks.... It's really on loan from him- guess why- that's right- he's marrying a non-diver & doesn't dive much any more!!!very true. You may have a long wait for enlightenment!

But for as much as I dive, I really think it would be hard to not date a diver. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed there's some great diver guy out there for me...maybe one that will hump my doubles... :anna:
