I'm not on this trip either but when I did it a few years ago we had a hurricane coming into the gulf and when I boarded the plane no decision had been made, the Spree left port thinking we could get in a few dives. We had big swells on the way out but the storm went ashore in Mexico and the seas flattened right out. Good luck! :birthday: :lmao:

I would like everyone to know that K and I are on top of this. We have put our heads together and have come up with some alternative ideas, and I have run these past Capt Bruce, the Capt of the Sea Searcher ll. He really liked both ideas and is willing to work with us as he is SAFELY able to. Just to let you all know, the crew, right down to the second Capt were 'Hand-Picked' for our trip and they are ALL excited about this trip and making sure that we ALL have fun. No one is wanting to NOT go diving. We are doing our best, putting our heads together, checking the Navy's and NOAA's forecast updates every hour so we can salvage the trip, ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. Some of the websites are restricted and are only for Paying customers so they are a LOT more ACCURATE that what we have access to. We may have to cut this back to a two day trip +, depending on the weather.

I will keep everyone informed as to what we are working on as we get more information. Everyone keep your heads up and think positive.

Thanks for the update ZD...you've dove these waters more than all of us combined so you know the 'drill' better than anyone!

As for the crew being excited about us joining them...they REALLY ARE!!! And that is pretty special since we've never dove with them as a group...we are getting a 3 day charter vs. the normal 2 day charter...we got a prime date in July/August and they have 'hand picked' the crew for us so we will have the best time possible!

I have been asked about the refund policy timing should we get blown out.

If the boat does cancel based on their policy they will refund your money.  How soon after they reund the money to you would you be sending out refunds to us?

I do not know how long it will take for the boat to refund me the monies I've paid them. Once I receive the monies from them I will refund the money to you all within 30 days or less depending on my travel schedule. We hope with the new accounting system that we will be able to take this to 15 days or less which is our goal.

My flight arrives at 12:16 tomorrow on Delta given I don't get stuck in Atlanta, if it gets stuck I will get there when Delta decides I can get there.    :thankyou:

Worst case scenairo I will have to find something to do in Houston.

Linda

Linda raises a good point. I think that everyone's flight has some cushion built into it for flight delays. Since we have chartered the entire boat...I'm sure we can delay departure of the boat until we have all our members onboard provided that they are making it onto the boat that night. If your flight is cancelled and you are pushed to a Saturday arrival...we will not be able to wait for you. But I see no reason for anyone to miss the boat...even due to a flight delay...if they are arriving on Friday at some point in time.

We will keep you posted of the weather and any other trip matters that arise.

PLEASE send ScubaPunk your celfone number. OR send your contact info to trips@singledivers.com and we'll make sure that Sandy gets it. -ww

Hey gang...our last minute divers...Dennis and Rona now can not join us. :diver:

I may have a line on a diver from Sea Searcher but does anyone want to jump on at the last minute and join us? I just spoke with Capt Bruce and I think we are going to be able to make at least 2 of the 3 days...if not all 3. :teeth:

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

ZD, if I screw this up, feel free to correct me where necessary.

From Dallas or Int'L:

Take 45 S to 288 S.
(Do not take the 288 Business exit to Angleton/Freeport.)
Stay on 288 S through Lake Jackson on into Freeport (approximately 10 miles)
NOTE: watch your speed limit from Lake Jackson into Freeport
Go through Freeport until you see a Football Stadium on your right
At the light turn Left onto 2nd Street
Approximately 1/4 mile you will see "On the River Restaurant" on your right side

ZD will direct you to the boat from there.

Sandy

Good job Sandy
