For anyone that isn't a Bonaire regular, I'd suggest spending a little time on www.bonairetalk.com. Most of the island regulars hang out there. There are good trip reports, including where to eat and hang when not diving. Also dive reports, seahorse sitings, dolphin sitings, even a whale shark siting a few months ago. It's also a good place to ask questions.

Is Nitrox an option? Is this something we need to reserve ahead of time? I've never been to Bonaire so not sure if it's even needed.

You can definitely get Nitrox at many operators on Bonaire. Most, if not all, of your diving will be at 100' or less, so Nitrox will work well. I don't know who you're contracted with, but check into it if you want/need it. Most operators will get it on request if they don't normally have it.

And now for the sad news....we have to close out the trip today. I'm BEGGING for an extension but since it is festival they have a WAITING LIST for rooms so we need to return any rooms not spoken for!!

If you have ANY idea of going and not sure cuz you are waiting on that tax refund or whatever....PLEASE let me know so I can try to fudge accordingly!! Marvel I know about you and Mischevious is working on final details and Jim I know you are working final details.....but if ANYONE else is planning to join us...ya got to let me know!!!!

Jextract just made this post in another thread and it bears repeating in this one! Please consider doing this for our trip coming up. We also ask that you put photocopies of your c-card, DAN insurance, passport, emergency contact info and any and all meds you are taking as well as any health issues that you have in a SEALED envelope. Put you name on the envelope and give them to me for safe keeping in the event that you need copies of the documents inside OR you need medical attention and are unable to communicate with us. Just as an aside, and sorry if this is too off topic, but I always keep in a small waterproof container in my BC pocket a sheet of paper that has my name, address, phone number, work address and phone number, name/address/phone of all next of kin, DAN Member info & phone, PADI info, medical plan info, blood type/HIV negative status and latest test info.

Probably overkill, but I guess the ex-Boy Scout in me comes out sometimes.  Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

hey...pardon my confusion, yoganerd (2nd blonde moment of the day! d'oh!). i remembr you mentioning yoga in class, so i've been looking for you. ww just told me that you're marc, but i didn't think so because your profile lists you as a female. that's all.

Whoops...he was flying out the door to go to work to pay for this trip when he was talking to me and registering on the board!! Guess he got confused...or left it at the default which is female...not to worry....I'll have Walter fix it for him!
