And if anyone is a 'net addict, you can get on-line at Chat 'N Browse, south of the resort. It's in the mini-mall *just* north of the roundabout. Send Michael an e-mail in advance and you might be able to work out a deal if you want to use his direct 10base-T or wireless connection for VOIP back home. You can also send taunting reports back here.... while enjoying ice cream at the parlor.

NOT JEALOUS!

http://www.chatnbrowse.com/

(no relation, I just used him last year, and sat around and chewed the fat)

This is presuming that Sand Dollar still doesn't have WAP or other 'net access. Ya gotta have SOMETHING to do while you're offgassing between dives :diver:

Don't mess with Traveler's Checks if this is your first trip out of country. There's a bank between Chat 'N Browse and the Sand Dollar (MCB) that'll take your debit or credit card and turn it into dollars or NAFL at the current rate, WAY better than you'll get if you try spending dollars. EVERYONE fudges on the exchange rate with dollars.

Say 'hello' for me to the seahorse on the wreck/rubble offshore of the burned-out resort south of Sand Dollar. It's black, and hard to spot. It hangs around the bit of coral and chain up from the wreck at Front Porch, or did last November.

John, You got me thinking about this trip and I only sign up to make it cheaper for you to join...Few days later, and I'm the last minute add on. :birthday:

To soften the blow, I'll even offer to give up my spot to you. I don't think the ladies will mind sharing a room with a guy. Hey, maybe I'll get a bribe. :birthday: But, darling, the airfare is going to kill you at this late date.

Karl, a gentleman get other perks later down the road. :birthday:

....hmmm, well, in a belated effort to start to 'earn' those 'perks' :)...here's yet another handy tip for the Bonaire-bound:

....everyone do yourself a favor and bring a BUNCH of extra tank yoke-valve 'O-rings'.......it was my experience that the tanks in Bonaire are extremely well used.......and I found 'issues' with the quality of the resorts O-rings...they hadn't been replaced in a long time and many were very marginal....... I brought a couple dozen with me and used them all on my trip...and even ran out of them.......the only good news was I ended up replacing so many that with time I often got back a tank the next time I switched out tanks that I'd 'fixed' the dive or day before.

........luckily the resort did a good job otherwise.......3000--3200 psi fills, right on 32% EAN....so no complaints there....just the worn-out O-rings. (and bring a brass pick too, so you can fish out the 'old' O-rings...they've been in the tanks a long time and are really wedged in tight!)

My bags are packed and I'm ready to go.

Karl, how do you tell if you need a new O-ring and how do you get them off and put in the new ones? You know, I never had to do any of this, always had some guys taking care of it for me but I am interested in learning.

Starting the countdown...6 more days. :birthday: [COLOR=purple][COLOR=purple]
