Welcome to SD's "Just For Fun" Contest of the Month! These will be either Holiday or Diving related so join in for all the fun! Some will be silly...some will be serious...but all will be something you won't want to miss!


March's Contest:

Well St. Patrick's Day is around the corner...so step up to bar me lads and lassies and give us your best St Patty's Day Poems and Limericks!

1. Post your St. Patty's Day entries in this thread!

2. Only entries in this thread will be judged for the contest. (Please do not start another one as they will be too hard to keep up with.)

3. Everyone is welcome to participate and we'll have prizes for the "best and the worst" so everyone is qualified to play. We'll also have prizes for the most creative and the poem or limerick that best captures the essense of St. Patty's Day! (Only poems and limericks pertaining to St. Patty's Day will be judged in the contest.)

4. The winners can be found drinking the 17th clear thru until we announce the winners which will be sometime after St. Patty's Day and before the end of the month!

So what are you waiting for....start writing and start entering!! And warned is forewarned...do not read this thread while drinking fluids or eating food. Contents will cause aforementioned objects to projectile thru the nose due to uncontrolable laughter!

A reminder for the non-limerick addicts: A limerick is 5 lines with 7 syllables in the first, second and fifth lines and 5 syllables in the third and forth. the rhyme scheme is, of course, A,A,B,B,A
For example:

A Patty's day poem, I'm keen
To salute the S D Queen
The Wench, She's the Most!
Let's all make a toast
To her, a beer, emerald green!

My more serious entry, before I get carried away . . .

When Shamrocks and Erin I think
Beer: Green and Elephants: Pink
Irish for a day
We're well on the way
So Leprechauns, have a drink

Saint Patrick ran off the snakes
What a pleasant isle this makes
to sit with your miss
and not hear a hiss
When of pleasure you partakes

It only comes once a year
we're all Irish t'day, so cheer
wear something green tone
kiss a blarney stone
and toast Erin a mug of beer

To dive off the Irish coast
That's a dive I want the most
but not if S. D.
won't go there with me
For the best dives, they do host
