An Irish dream, I tell you

All Irish I've set my tone
My Limerick skills to hone
I've ate Irish stew
I've drank the green brew
Hell, I've Frenched the Blarney Stone


Kate took charge, if you let her
Rougher, she said, the better
Now poor O'Rilley
Can't stand to pee
Call him the Irish Sitter

Irish coffee fans, I've seen
Will understand what I mean
A cup, in one swoop
Has all four food groups
fat, booze, sugar and caffeine



oooh, just thought of a strange one. My official entry for the worst Irish themed Limerick in history:

Oh' Danny Boy has fallen
Strange men, he has been ballin'
Seen from glen to glen
He takes cash from men
For now crack pipes are callin'

There was a young man name Imeric
Who thought he knew how to Limrick
Much to his suprise
He wasn't so wise
And couldn't finish his poem




There was a dive diva in Roatan
Who said diving around I can
She dove into Mary's Place
With an eel she came face to face
So she's now on the beach getting a tan



Young Johny wanted to go diving
Though it took a lot of driving
He soon found a spot
Where the diving was hot
And now on the sea creatures he's spying


A little old lady name Laura
Said when it came to diving she needs mora
Down to the deep
Off the boat she did leap
To dive on the Andera Dora

A Strange Saint Patrick’s Day - 2005

This morn’ I watched as the sleepy sun, came rising in the sky
And as I gazed into his face, I saw him wink his eye
With impish grin he smiled at me, as I stood struck with awe
In disbelief I pondered, on this spectacle I saw

“Mr. Sun”, I said, not certain how to speak to him by name
“What’s so great about today? Isn’t it the same?
The same as any other day you’ve wandered ‘cross the sky…
Or is it different? Tell me, please, I’m curious just why.“

“My friend,” he said, with a gentle voice that hinted of his glee
“This day is very special, yes, especially for me.
Today is like a promise, a reminder if you please…
Of greener grass and warmer days that dance upon the breeze.”

“Today it is Saint Patrick’s Day,” he stated bold and strong
“And soon the winter cold will be moving right along.
For I shall make your world a little warmer every day
And stay a little longer as I pass upon my way.”

“Birds will sing the sweetest songs to sweeten up the air.
Kids will skip with laughter, as they toss away their care.
Fields will fill with colors that your eyes have never seen.
So thick and lush the grass will be, the deepest shade of green.”

“You see, my friend,” the Sun declared, “there’s magic in this day.
The Leprechauns and rainbows help remind us we must play.
Laughter is the medicine that heals us deep inside.
It keeps us feeling young again and mends our wounded pride.”

And as he spoke these words to me, my head was filled with dreams
Of clear blue skies with puffy clouds and cool mountain streams
The woman l that I longed to hold, an angel of a lass
Summer days that we would spend just rolling in the grass

A thousand times I’d kiss her as we laid upon the clover
And in my arms she’d stay, when our sweet embrace was over
Yes, springtime is a time for love and starting life anew
A time to stop and ponder all the things that we could do

There’s so much to be thankful for, each day that we are here
Forget about the doubt and pain, throw away the fear
Live each moment of your life as if it were your last
For none of us is certain of the time that we will pass

“You’re right!” the words came pouring from the bottom of my heart
“St. Patrick’s Day reminds us that each day’s a brand new start!
So, Mr. Sun, I’ll toast to you, with emerald tinted ale
And thank you for the gentle wind that fills my daily sail.”

“I’ll dream of warmer days ahead and springtime filled with love
And every time a dream comes true I’ll think of you above.
Thank you for reminding me that life’s a precious gift,
I’ll do my best to pass it on, when other’s need a lift.”

He shook his head and laughed at me and so I asked him, “What?”
Then suddenly a ray of light reached out and pinched my butt!
Beyond a doubt it was, the most amazing thing I’ve seen
“My friend,” he chuckled loudly, “you forgot to wear your green!”

Oh Diver Boy the waves, they are a callin’
